My heart yearns to heal your hearts and to teach you
of things never known before to man. For my heart
pours over to My children... to teach them of new
things never before heard or seen by man.
Do you not want to know?

Come, and seek Me. I have many things to teach you.
My Spirit I leave with you and through this Spirit I
wish to reach out to the peoples of this earth.
Come to Me and learn from Me. Seek Me even more,
and keep the Fire burning. Do not cease to seek Me
as you have done before.

Does not My heart reach out to the peoples
of this generation? Great and small alike?
I am forever with you.

Turn your ear and listen to what I have to say:
Guard yourself from the one who wishes to snatch
you. He prowls around looking for opportunities
to overcome you once more, but stand guard.
Stand guard with the fruit of My Spirit, which are
faith, hope and love, and holiness. Stand guard
with the belt of Truth buckled around your waist,
for it will never fail you.

I love you My children, and I only wish for you
to draw even closer to My Spirit, for the coming
times are perilous. You know how I have warned
of the coming times and how many false prophets
will enter into this world.
Listen now! That time has come!

I am not far now. I will soon come in all my Glory,
all my righteousness, riding on the wings of Power.
Come closer, draw near to Me, and do not give up
hope. My Spirit is near, very near. Come close
to Me and enjoy the Fruit of Life.
I send you forth as the Light of this world. Now Go!

I have never understood that phrase come and seek the Lord.

Is he lost?

Cheers,
|ZZ|

Zzub - that isn't very spiritual.

Of course if we live in the presence of God and our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, it wouldn't be hard to find Him.

What isn't spiritual?

The phrase "Seek the Lord" is not in the New Testament.

The New Testament is for people who live with the Lord inside them. Greater is He than is IN me... if you need to seek the Lord you need to get saved!

The New Testament does tell us to SEEK THE KINGDOM. Do things God's way. Obey his principles, his precepts. Live healthy, live wealthy, live righteous in the world.

As soon as you tell people they need to seek the Lord you are telling them that they are not living in Christ. That Christ is not in them. It counters the righteousness and God-consciousness that saturates the New Testament and pushes people back into a legalism that never leads to somewhere productive.

Cheers,
|ZZ|

Acts 15
16" 'After this I will return
and rebuild David's fallen tent.
Its ruins I will rebuild,
and I will restore it,
17that the remnant of men may seek the Lord,
and all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things'
18that have been known for ages.

I went to go search for what you said, and found that 'seek the Lord' is in the New Testament, as can be read here. :p

But as for a believer seeking the Lord, is that not what you do when you pray, or when you read the Bible, or worship Him? I seek the Lord in quiet times, seeking Him out to be with Him so I can listen to His still, small voice.

Matthew 7
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

But I agree, the NT advises believers to seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness (and all else shall be given to you... if I remember correctly). But, I don't really see how you can't seek the Kingdom and not seek Him at the same time?

Hebrews 11:6
6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Unless if you say that you seek the Lord only once and never have to do so again (in terms of prayer)?
For I understand that you are meaning to say, that after we sought the Lord through the Cross, and were cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, we found Him. No need to seek what has already been found. But, it is also often said to seek the Lord in prayer, for instance.

Some seeking scriptures here:

1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Psalm 22:26
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
they who seek the LORD will praise him—
may your hearts live forever!

Psalm 105:4
4 Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always.

Jeremiah 29:7
7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

1 Kings 22:5
5 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD."

Blessings!

This is a quote from the Old Testament and is referring to temple worship.

Maybe you want to go back in time, but I believe John 4.24!

Read it in context. It is the only time the phrase appears and it has nothing to do with NT worship.

No. I read the Bible WITH Him, not to FIND Him! I walk with Him every day - neither He nor I are lost!

I just find it such a strange, strange turn of phrase. If I book a nice meal out with my wife, I am not going to seek my wife. Seek the Lord just seems like a religious cliche to me.

Because we don't need to seek Him! He is here. However, the fulness of the kingdom is not yet on expression on earth, so we need to seek that.

Some OLD TESTAMENT seeking scriptures here:

1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Psalm 22:26
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;

Psalm 105:4
4 Look to the LORD and his strength;

Jeremiah 29:7

1 Kings 22:5
5 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD."

Blessings!
Not only are these verses OLD COVENANT, some of them are not even about seeking the Lord.

Listen you can go and seek the Lord as much as you like. When you get tired, come to Him and He will give you rest - it's called being BORN AGAIN!. He will ABIDE in you. Why would you go looking for someone ABIDING IN YOU?

He isn't, but sometimes we are.
I think it is a case of going to spend time searching for His characteristics, searching for a deeper intimacy, searching for what He wants to do in your life.

Maybe in short is is like friendship: the more time you spend with a person the better you get to know them. So too, the more time we spend with God, searching for Him, the better we will know Him.

Uh, ok, how about this?

Acts 17
22Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Whatever the case, it's irrelevant. To seek the Lord is not something to worry about, it simply means in SoulWings' context for the saved to come closer to Him. I'm not sure if that clears it up for you, but I'm sure even you have felt in the past the urge to commune with God ever more fervently. No difference.

I just find it such a strange, strange turn of phrase. If I book a nice meal out with my wife, I am not going to seek my wife. Seek the Lord just seems like a religious cliche to me.

Well good for you, let's move on with the actual thread.

God is ever moving much like the cloud by day in the old testament. So sometimes we must seek Him and look for Him. He is always leading us in new ways, new directions and those ways must be sought out. To seek Him is not a matter of old or new testament. I for one will seek out the Lord all the days of my life and one day when this life is over we will be rewarded for this endeavor....God Bless ALL!!

I thought the smiley would indicate that I was merely poking fun... you said that term wasn't found in the NT... I went to go check... and there it was! :)

I did, actually. :p

Perhaps so.
But please bear with me now, and this is no sugar-coating excuse. I understand what you are saying, as I had arleady responded so in my previous post.
The Lord speaks to us all on some kind of level. As I experience hearing His Voice through the still, small, whisper of the Holy Spirit, He also speaks to me in a language which I understand. As you may hear Him through the English language, I hear Him in both English and Dutch, and sometimes mixed together, as that is the way I speak myself. The Lord will not speak Russian to a Chinese person, as the person will not understand Him, in the same way the Lord speaks to me in a level that I can understand Him.
What I have understood from quiet times with the Lord 'to seek Him' is that which seperates the hot from cold, and the lukewarm from the other two. Seeking Him, running the race to reach that end goal, is what keeps the you hot. If you neglect the time in which you spend with Him, if you neglect the relationship of friendship which grows stronger through intimate contact, then that is what will leave you cold and lukewarm.

Because we don't need to seek Him! He is here. However, the fulness of the kingdom is not yet on expression on earth, so we need to seek that.

He is with us, as He will never forsake us. And as the OP said, the Lord spoke to me: 'I am forever with you'. (Matthew 28:20)

Acts 17 is an evangelist sermon.

Of course we should tell unregenerate sinners that they should go and find God. They are eternally condemned to hell if they do not.

But to tell a blood-bought, Spirit-filled GREATER ONE on the INSIDE new birthed friend of God that speaks with Him and has the SAME SPIRIT inside that RAISED CHRIST from the DEAD - the VERY RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD - the IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD to go and find this God that lives inside them, well that is lunacy.

I am not a God Chaser.

That would like me saying that I am chasing my wife. No - we are married.

Me and God - we are friends. We are on speaking terms. He is not playing a big cosmic game of hide-and-seek with me.

I really believe Zzub and Soulwings is saying the same thing, only seeing them in different terms...

In "seeking" Him, we rest in the fact that He is available to us in that Kingdom which Christ said is "within you". It is true that we can't seek the Kingdom outside of seeking Him.

He is the Door.

As we enter into rest through Him, we see Him in His fullness and with Him we get a glimpse of the manifestation of His Kingdom.

There are plenty of Christians who are seeking a lot of things that they believe are of God, but often they find themselves "striving" to find something that they do not realize is simply there already... it already exists and is a part of our union with Him.

There are those who have placed their trust in Christ, but do not yet know this place of rest.

We are entrusted with the Sabbath... entering into the rest that the Lord has made available to us. If we neglect our relationship with Him, through neglecting fellowship, then we most certainly have no apt way to renew our minds to the Truth. He is Truth.

This can be seen in the allegory of the temple. The outer court is the place of the flesh. The inner court is a place of the flesh and the spirit. The Holy of Holies is a place of the Spirit... where we find an end to striving and works to obtain the favor and blessing of God, and simply yield by resting in His already completed work that He did on our behalf - thus realizing that we already possess that which is ours by inheritance.

Read the Song of Solomon.

There are those times that the Lord seems to deliberately withdraw His presence for a time. It is to draw us into a deeper longing and seeking after Him, as a lover would yearn to once again see and be with her beloved, after being separated from His presence for awhile.

I myself am in a time of seeking the Lord, desperately wanting much more of Him than I presently experience.

For those who wish to read: a word from the Lord.

My heart yearns to heal your hearts and to teach you
of things never known before to man. For my heart
pours over to My children... to teach them of new
things never before heard or seen by man.
Do you not want to know?

Yes Lord. Speak for your child hears. Teach me Lord to take off the old and put on the new. I love your testimonies.

Lord, Jehuveh, this what You promised just before your died on the cross and yet You remained focused on my salvation. You told us that we could not bear them at the time but You promised of another time in which You Spirit would declare of things to come. Father, I have gone my own way in the past because I was too impatient but now Lord, my God and Redeemer, I wait on Your word to be manifested in my own life that Your Name may be glorified.

Does not My heart reach out to the peoples
of this generation? Great and small alike?
I am forever with you.

Father, Yashuah, Your heart goes out to this people of this generation, yes both great and small. Thank You Father that You have chosen never to leave us nor forsake us. Enlarge our hearts that we may love one another that the world may know that You sent Your only Son for our salvation. Yes, let the anointing that resides in the deepest recesses of our heart teach us that we may know Your will.

Have You not spoken? Have You not said that he who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches? Why do we debate Lord and ignore Your presence? May we bear the fruit of the spirit that we may walk in the joy of the Holy Ghost as we seek Your face Father. Cause us to stand in faith as we declare Your word truth that You may deliver us from this evil and crooked generation.

I love you My children, and I only wish for you
to draw even closer to My Spirit, for the coming
times are perilous. You know how I have warned
of the coming times and how many false prophets
will enter into this world.
Listen now! That time has come!

Father, we love You because You loved us first. We draw nigh to You because You promised that you'd draw nigh to us too. Father, You have spoken of this generation. May it be known world-wide that this generation has been warned of the perils yet to come. Speak Lord for Your children hear. Who will listen?

I am not far now. I will soon come in all my Glory,
all my righteousness, riding on the wings of Power.
Come closer, draw near to Me, and do not give up
hope. My Spirit is near, very near. Come close
to Me and enjoy the Fruit of Life.
I send you forth as the Light of this world. Now Go!

Have You not spoken that the word is nigh thee? Is it not with the heart that man believes and confession is made with the mouth? What have we spoken that is not of the heart Lord? The glory we have experienced so far is yet just a foretaste of things to come. Cause us to hunger Lord that we may draw nigh to You. Hope does not disappoint, does it? Father even as You have spoken, strangers inquire about Your nature out on the streets, the by-ways wanting to know about You. Whom shall You send unless they're called? Thank You Father for speaking to Your people.
