Arent there certainly Christians who are still "of the works of the law"? If so, doesnt that put them "under the curse". There are so many Christians who still try to get the blessings of God by "doing things/self-effort" rather than relying on his grace and faith.

why would Paul warn the Galatians or even mention being under the curse if it is something that they would never have to worry about.

Exactly, thanks for proving my point. :)

there is a loss of pertection, the very thing that you said that they could not lose.

It looks like you have no point because you keep contradicting yourself.

Why don't you explain to us what you mean in a way that we can understand.

You can refuse it, that's a little different in this case of loosing it.

God's protection is always on a christian. Now 1. how you definate protection matters and 2. you can refuse it

Dear Andrew,

The law in Deut. 28 was given to the Jews.
The general curse of the law though is for all that are under it. Since the Gentiles did not have the written codified law [Deut. 28] they were not specifically cursed by it. Rather they lived under the law of sowing and reaping.

This law by the way includes a couple of related things. First, if you break any part of the law you break the whole law. Little white lies or murder made you a lawbreaker and subject to every curse. The major curse is spiritual death and separation from God. If you are under law, you are not under grace which means you are not under the blood which means you are damned. Only by the graciousness of God through Jesus can you be saved from being under law and damnation.

Since Jesus died for ALL of your sins, then ALL of your sins are covered by the blood when you are baptized into His death and raised in new life in the spirit. Since you then are forever and never under the law [you can’t break it you are dead to it]. Read the story about the woman who is bound to her husband as long as he is alive. Once there is death, there is no more contract, there isn’t any binding.

Read again in Galatians how we are free from the law. How are we free? By Jesus and what He has done for us. We didn’t set ourselves free, we died to the law when we died with Him. He set us free and whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

But one can be legally free of something YET still be bound to it out of ignorance to the truth of the situation. That is why we need to KNOW the truth for it to set us free. We can live like we are still bound to our dead spouse even though we are legally, and morally not. So we can put ourselves under the law by our attitude but not in God’s eyes [or the devil’s] but in our eyes.

In Jesus alone,
mike
