I´m not aware of the mormon/latter day saints religion, but even wikipedia classifies them as Christian.
Perhaps, but most Christians wouldn't classify them as such, because their beliefs don't fall in line with the Nicene Creed. They don't believe in the Trinity, or the divinity of Jesus.

Ahh maybe I should clarify saviour then.. In order for someone to be a saviour they have to been able to save someone from something, as we know without the help of God we can not prevent ourselves from ever sinning or for that matter, we would need to be God in order not to sin.

The fact that Jesus was sinless, is very important due to Jesus dying for everyone´s sin, so it is not really possible for someone to accept Jesus as their saviour from sin without accepting Jesus was devine.

A few thoughts on OP:
I have found that when people go their seperate ways, they communicate for a while (eg phone), but they slow down and stop as they HAVE LESS IN COMMON.

I think the posts given have been excellent, and are worthy to remember. Just remember that we catch different fish by fishing in different ponds, and also by using different bait. If you need a guy for whom Jesus is everything and is going to walk on the same spiritual level, then you need to...

a) fish in the right place

b) use the right bait

Be blessed

*shrugs* I'm not entirely sure, but I THINK Mormons consider Jesus as a sinless reincarnation of Adam. If so, they don't see divinity as a necessary prerequisite to being without sin.

What I'm getting at is, if someone viewed Jesus as without sin but not as divine, or as "less-divine" than God the Father, would you have any major objections?

Probably not, I'd see it as a null point if anything. (Technically we are all sons and daughters of God).

This is a good topic that I also wonder about a lot. I'm a freshman in college, so it's very hard to limit my interaction with the opposite sex to 'just friends' and quite frankly, I don't really want to. I don't plan on marrying for quite some time, and it's almost unrealistic in a sense that I would never have a relationship with a guy until I'm ready to be married. I just want more of people's reasons why they feel dating is wrong or unnecessary.

Well at least your honest. Most of us aren't and say that we want to limit it when we don't want to limit our relationships with the opposite sex. I do believe that God works differently in each of us, and some of us are called to date and some of us are not. It's so hard to find an actual right or wrong answer on this topic though, it's very individual.

To answer your question, I'm not saying don't date out of hypcrosy.... I haven't dated myself in 7 years.... living around trash, I don't wanna be divin' in the dumpster when my queen walks by.....

I have the ability to restrain myself from dating unsaved girls... if you don't, that's your choice, but I date with marriage in mind, not just short term pleasures....

I am able to form deep bonds easily, even just as friends...I'm a fiercely loyal teddy bear friend..... aka the Big Brother you wanted... or so four young ladies have called me....and that's fine

I guess it's on how your wired and how you view life.

Who says one can only either date with marriage in mind, or date for short-term pleasures? What if one dates to simply learn about people, and prepare one's self for a relationship with the partner God intends for each of us?
