By now you've probably heard of the professional "victims" that go around looking for casinos and other large businesses to stage faux "slip-and-fall" accidents and then sue for damages.

Looks like some Muslims have picked up on this money-making idea and applied it to airport security. They did their best to look and act like terrorists, got themselves booted off a flight--and now they're suing.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20070313/ap_tr_ge/travel_brief_passengers_removed

I think they should be fined for filing a frivolous lawsuit, and the airlines should get a judgment for twice the legal fees they had to pay defending themselves.

So when men of arab persuation dress in normal, western attire, and happen to pray before they get on the plane, they're trying to look and act like terrorists?

Uh oh, I must be trying to be a terrorist every day of my life then, cuz I dress more "muslim/arab" then these imams did, and I sure as heck pray in public every day. Add to that that I will also frequently speak about Allah (swt), and have been known to use the phrase Allahu Akbar :swoon: Thankfully, the bosses have yet to kick me out of the office.

Man oh man, look at these guys dressed like terrorists

Here's another picture illustrating their terrorist garb

When they go complete with prayer rug, and make anti-American statements on the plane, yes, they are asking for trouble in this day and age. They obviously were trying to draw attention to themselves so they would be kicked off the plane, which would then give them the excuse to file a lawsuit.

It's just another variation of the old slip-and-fall tactic.

I don't think it's been proven that they made anti american statements on the plane. According to the police report, they were critical of the war in Iraq.

And I carry around a prayer rug in my purse and whip it out whenever I pray - including at the Minneapolis Saint Paul airport when I've flown through.

Obviously they did something to draw attention to themselves. I've read several accounts where they were rude and obnoxious.

I do believe the airline was foolish to kick them off. I would not have done so were I in charge. I would have realized I was being played. After all, true terrorists would do their best not to draw attention to themselves in the manner this group did. A little logic would have gone a long ways...and these people would have bought their tickets and spent all that money for nothing.

Having said all that, I do not believe Islam is compatible with liberal democracy and industrial civilization.

Spent all what money for nothing? They were in Minneapolis for a conference. Flying to attend a conference is a generally acceptable practice here in the US.

I haven't read anything about them being rude. That they wanted to switch seats around so they could help their blind friend, yes, but rude, no.

the new world man -

Please provide sources for the anti-american quotes that came out of these imam's mouths as well as what exactly they did (with proof) to draw attention to themselves.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the United States of America but here we have something called freedom of speech.

Personally, I don't like to see Islam in America. I think it is an anachronism, and a dangerous one. Islam is simply incompatible with this country's way of life. It is an alien religion and system.

These days...whether you like it or not...being Muslim is enough to draw attention to yourself when you board an airplane. Given the 100% correlation between Islam and the hijackers on 9/11, I think this is a reasonable precaution.

Freedom of speech, yes. But every freedom has limits. Try being a Shintoist during World War II here in America; see how far you would have gotten. The fact is, Islam is the religion of America's enemies...just like Shintoism was the religion of one of America's enemies during World War II. We are at war...9/11 was the new war's Pearl Harbor.

I cited numerous events, all well documented and verified independently, to support my assertions. If you wish to assert Islam is a peaceful religion that means us no harm, please do likewise: cite facts and evidence to support your assertion. And then tell me what really happened to two really tall buildings in Manhattan--after all, if Islam is such a peaceful religion, then surely its adherents wouldn't do something so violent and destructive. Right? So tell us what actually happened on 9/11 to the World Trade Center. Structural failure? A practice demolition by the team that took down the Stardust casino in Vegas? An alien death ray?

I lost a good friend of mine on 9/11, so if Muslims weren't responsible for that event, I'd like to know who was. Enlighten me, please. And no, I'm not afraid to speak out. There are people ethnically related to my fiance in Africa who are being raped and murdered every day, who are unable to speak for themselves against the evil that is threatening them, which is the same evil that threatens America. My grandfather stormed the beach at Normandy to support my right to speak against evil today. And if black Africans have to risk rape and murder just to get firewood to keep from freezing at night, and my grandfather risked Nazi bullets, I'm quite willing to risk being banned from an Internet discussion forum to speak TRUTH.

Oh, I think the "quacking" in question was done quite purposefully...to paraphrase Shakespeare, "the duck quacketh too much."

I lost a good friend of mine on 9/11,

So did I. Three were Christians and one was a Muslim.

My grandfather stormed the beach at Normandy to support my right to speak against evil today.

And my uncle lost his leg storming that same beach in Normandy so that I could have the freedom to practice my religion, which is Islam. Alhumdulilah for freedom of religion. If you do not like freedom of religion you can just let that back door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

As long as bigots don't act on their beliefs (like hanging black people in the name of the bible (see KKK) and exterminating jews (see Nazis) they have as much right to their beliefs as anyone else.

But my belief system isn't bigotry. My conclusions on Christianity are based on observed, verified fact: blacks persecuted and killed in the name of Christianity by members of the KKK, 6 million jews exterminated in the name of Christianity by the Nazi's, millions of muslims exterminated in the Crusades, millions of jews, muslims, etc. terrorized by the Christians during the Spanish Inquisition.

Is it a reasonable precaution for me to assume all Christians are as nutty as Fred Phelps? I mean, him and his band of loonies are 100% Christian.

I know the answer to this! We should put all American Muslims into camps just like we did to the japanese in WWII!

Personally, I don't like to see Islam in America.
Believe me when I say I BELIEVE YOU. Believe me, I believe you. Im beginning to notice a ... pattern .. on who holds the monopoly in irrational bigotry.

If Islam is so incompatible with this countries way of life, please provide me sources/anything at all demonstrating the horrific atrocities being commited by any of the 10 million muslims living in the States. Oh wait, you don't have any. That's because they're living proof that there is no problem with Islam and this country. Thank God for that. Luckly what you think and reality are completely opposite.

Dont worry..
Most people are smart enough to realize that Islam is not some sort of collective, most people have enough cognitive thought to make the leap from A to B. However there are some who do not. They see the world in Black and White. They see the world as "us vs them". Dont let Barnbottle Butch or Dale Drunkmullet of Tractortoe Rednecksville get under your skin. :)

How about Osama's man in America Ali Mohammed? Who trained terrorists in AMERICAN Mosques from CA,TX,to NY,and Boston from one coast to the other!
Ali Mohammed is the founder of the Al Qaeda terrorist movement!

Who is Ali Mohammed? Well, he was convicted of planning the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, as well as the bombings of US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. This alone ought to keep him locked up forever, but he never got locked up at all.

Ali Mohammed was the man who managed Osama Bin Laden’s relocation from the Sudan to Afghanistan in 1996. He trained Osama’s bodyguards. He also found time to author Bin Laden’s terrorist training manuals. For all practical purposes, Ali Mohammed is the founder of the Al Qaeda terrorist movement – he wrote the
book they train with!

And how about all the Islamists that have been caught here "before" they managed to blow up bridges, ect.?

The head Nazis were not Christians...they were pagans. Look it up:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_mysticism
http://www.stargods.org/Nazis_and_the_Occult.html
http://www.livingstonemusic.net/hitlerandtheoccult.htm

Hitler and his henchmen paid lip service to Christianity, but they were no Christians.

The Crusades were not a one-sided extermination of Muslims by Christians. The Crusades were part of an ongoing conflict between Christians and Muslims that in large part was started by Muslims.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Crusade

From the article:

By the early 8th century, the Arab Empire under the Umayyads had rapidly captured North Africa, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Spain from a predominantly Christian Byzantine Empire.

So we see that, while the Crusades were proximately an offensive by Christians against Muslims, the Crusades did not take place in a vacuum: they were a response to earlier Muslim aggression against Christians.

But this discussion is not about what happened centuries ago. This is a discussion of contemporary Islam. And given that Muslims are attempting to violently overthrow the governments of and otherwise destabilize over a dozen countries, have carried out hundreds of terror attacks, and are currently engaged in genocide, I think the burden of proof does not lie with those of us who argue that Islam is a threat to Western civilization. Rather, the burden of proof lies with those who, in spite of abundant evidence to the contrary, insist that Islam is a religion of peace and that those of us who do not want it in America are "bigots," "rednecks," and "throwbacks."
