You may not know it, Reckless, but you did sound condescending.  You might want to watch that.

Just because it's been perverted, does that mean we can't use it?  A lot of things in the Bible and other Christian processes have been perverted before (Like I said earlier, the cross was an ancient druidic symbol symbolizing the meeting of consciousness and unconciousness.  Likewise, should we stop using the symbol of the Cross?)

What they meant in the interview is that their music is not purely for Christians.   Too many bands specialize and make it so only Christians can understand, and therefore are making no impact.

Here's a story.  Someone I know has a friend who was not a Christian and not living right.  This guy, however listened to POD, which lead my Christian friend to invite him to a DC Talk concert, which lead to the kid accepting Christ!  POD is a good middle ground, that just proves it.

During the the song Selah, P.O.D. was talking about how Jesus's love was everlasting and with Him you can alwasy feel love and never be afraid. This was at a concert btw, so the kid, he was like only 15 screamed up to Sonny "Cna Jesus save me?!" Sonny pulled the kid up on stage , hugged him, prayed with him, the kid returned to the pit in my mind saved

Behe's Boy, you have made some very interesting observations and as a christian that is exactly what you are suppose to do concerning anything we allow ourselves to listen to in music, t.v., etc. Now, personally, I have never even heard of this group, POD, but then my son says I am from the "old school", whatever that means.... I have often questioned some of this newer music. I truly understand that it is important to reach the youth and tell them about the gospel, but at what expense? Do we cross the line and step into the secular world by imitating negative influences? I asked my son (age 14) if he has heard of this group and what he has just told me is he is not impressed with them. I called them a christian rock group and he says they don't "act" like they are. Apparently he has seen a video, too. I guess what I am saying is this, good for you B.B. for having the insight to take a very good look at what you are listening to. I hope all youth will consider doing their "homework" on this subject. You are absolutely correct in pointing out that we all have to live in this world but we never should lower our standards or compromise for the sake of Christ. God has blessed you with much wisdom. May I ask how old you are? thank you for teaching me something new today.

Mel methinks you need to do homework on the subject yourself and read throuhout the post. No one has any riht to judge P.O.D. or say how they act is un christian. Thats exactly what they try to convey, that you suoldnt have to change who you are as a person in order to love and follow Christ. P.O.D. is a perect example, they have fun doing what they like: playing music, and they can follow Christ and live for Him while doing it. I look at a christian community, and I think of it almost like a cult. They wear the same thing, do the same thin and act the same way. I know If thats what it took to love and be with Christ I wouldnt be a christian, but thats not what its all about and you have to realize that. You have to understand that diversity isnt bad, that you can be WHO YOU ARE. There are way to many people who arnt christian because of such small minded thinkin, P.O.D. trys to et out the message that thats NOT what its all about. What kind of secualr music P.O.D. listens to or who they play with or how they do it means nothing, theres nothing wrong with expanding your horizons. P.O.D. does so, yet they, unlike many people, have the ability to do so and still follow Christ and not have to compromise what they believe in.

On the contrary, becoming a Christian is full of change. You have to change your heart to match the way Jesus lived. You have to change your whole lifestyle. Once you are saved you cannot be doing ungodly things, you have to change the way you live.

P.O.D. is a perect example, they have fun doing what they like: playing music, and they can follow Christ and live for Him while doing it. I look at a christian community, and I think of it almost like a cult. They wear the same thing, do the same thin and act the same way. I know If thats what it took to love and be with Christ I wouldnt be a christian, but thats not what its all about and you have to realize that.

If they were all following God's commandments, and doing everything God says, they would be acting all the same way. Is there a problem with them all acting as Jesus would?

You have to understand that diversity isnt bad, that you can be WHO YOU ARE. There are way to many people who arnt christian because of such small minded thinkin, P.O.D. trys to et out the message that thats NOT what its all about. What kind of secualr music P.O.D. listens to or who they play with or how they do it means nothing, theres nothing wrong with expanding your horizons.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

-Romans 12:2

P.O.D. does so, yet they, unlike many people, have the ability to do so and still follow Christ and not have to compromise what they believe in.

You cannot server two masters. Doing one non-christian thing, then doing christian things doesn't mix:

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon(material wealth, or possesions)."

-Matthew 6:24

"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth."

-Revelation 3:16

I will answer the older posts when I get back (I have all my responses on a word document). By the way, who is "B.B." or "Behe's Boy"? Just wondering.

Dude you jsut dont get it. Becoming a chrtistian is a huge change in mind and soul and heart. Your heart is changed and you feel differently, but you still have your own personality. What I mean is, is that it doesnt matter what style of music you like or what hobbies ya got or how ya dress as long as you arent oing against Gods will by doing so. None of that stuff matters as long as you love and live for christ. Alot christians wouldnt even reognize Jesus in my house. They think you gotta dress the same and act the same, be all the same! But it aint like that! In a way we ARE all the same in living and being one with God. But I may not like the same kind of music you do, or have the same kind of hobbies you do. There is no christian "standard". The only thing non christian is not loving, living for, and believing in God. Playing rock music isnt non christian, skateboarding isnt non christian, wearing baggy clothes isnt none christian.

You understand where Im comin from?
