"There is a certain kind of man who can look at a crippled christian and say Glory to God. There is a certain kind of man that can look at a crippled christian and say, I want the Jesus that this man has. It's called a humble man, a man with the heart of God!"

It's more like a demonic, sicko in agreement with the devil. (-- the devil comes to steal kill and destroy.....)

Like i said, if that's true, no need for you to preach the gospel, just bring sinners to the hospital n they'll start proclaiming: "GLORY TO GOD! I WANT JESUS!"

"well not quite there yet but on the right track -- all by God's grace. how abt you? "

Just wondering..if you develop cancer will you say to yourself, I guess I don't have faith enough?

"its a sin to say God made you that way and that he wants you to stay that way and that you somehow glorify him by being sick!"

Even after he says "no" when you ask for healing? I totally disagree.

yep u totally disagree with the Word that is. The next time you hear "no" open your eyes a little wider -- its the devil talking to you.

healing is in the atonement. so its never a question of yes or no. its already done. and all the promises of God in Christ are Yes and Amen. God is not a God of Yes and No. Yes for some, no for others.

"18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
19* For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
20* For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

and now you preach a "yea" and "nay" Christ. :(

Galatians 4:15 What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I
bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your
own eyes and given them to me.

Galatians 6:11 See with what large letters I have written to you
with my own hand!

These are the 2 verses that strongly imply that the thorn of his flesh was his eyes.

Nope, I don't disagree with the word at all, because that's not what it says, its what you say. Big difference :)
The scripture you quoted is very irrelveant just like if I qouted Job38:2 in reference to you.

Now to get back to the subject. I do believe Paul's thorn was some type of physical thing as noted by the reflecting thoughs in chapter 7 (physical tribulations bringing a good thing).

*LOL* i think you shld read post one to see what sciptures teach.

I can see it now....Paul was blind or half-blind with his eye-balls popping out -- walking around with a stick or feeling his way around (add a pair of cool Rayban shades to that vision)....proclaiming: "Turn to Jesus, he'll forgive you and heal your sicknesses. Look how well and happy Jesus has made me..."

and I can just picture the crowds running away *LOL*

thats not a fair responce. I can see why someone would conclude this thorn was his eyesight based on those verses, but I say we cannot know for sure. Surely his eyes were not hanging out, he just probably needed someone to tell him what was written in front of his face, and whatnot. If he had to write words large in order to read them, he was likely farsighted or something Take any guy today with really thick glasses, and you probably have what Paul was, if in fact his thorn was his eyesight. Who's knows. Physical or not, the point is God allowed him to have it, and for a specific purpose. Physical or spiritual, God gave paul an affliction as part of his will for Paul's life. If God can do that to Paul, he can do that to me, and he can do that to you !

I REJECT THAT CURSE in JESUS' NAME! if you want God to put sickness on you, its up to you (though that wld be the devil), but dont curse others or drag them in.

you obviously did not even read the first post carefully.

Have you ever used the phrase of someone that they would "give you the shirt off their back"? Does this mean you don't have any clothes?

Gal. 6
11 Look at what large letters I have written to you in my own handwriting. 12 Those who want to make a good showing in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised--but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

This is merely a form of emphasis. His very next statement (the one emphasized) is a synopsis of, basically, what the whole letter to the Galatians was about. This hypothesis is easy enough to see all over this forum. Most on here don't use large fonts because of bad eye sight but because they wish to place emphasis on a particular idea or phrase. You can especially see this in a statement which recaps a larger frame of writing. This is also born out in the fact that it seems at this point Paul gave up dictation to personally write and emphsize his closing statements.

So, Paul wrote big for emphasis!

quote:"Nope, I'm willing to bet you'll get sick again before you die and you still have a job that you go to work to, as do others in your church."

go ahead and bet with the devil all you want.

I have a cushy job , good pay and excellent health confirmed by a recent medical checkup. And I'll live to a good old age without sickness in Jesus' name and perhaps not die shld Christ come back first.

As for you and your cohorts, you are open game for the devil becos you choose to believe the opposite for yourself. You will have what you believe.

glad you do, but watch out, where your treasure is there your heart is also.

I'll take my benefits when I get to heaven though, thanks, for if you get it on earth, you're not gonna get it in heaven, you've already been rewarded :)

well my heart aint with the devil that's for sure, and why wldn I take any 'advice' from you? you're not my care leader or pastor or teacher, neither are u fit to do so.

Dont know about your god, but who needs benefits in heaven. It has streets of gold, pearly gates, mansions, i'll have my robe of righteousness etc...sorry cant change what the Bible says about what a believer can expect in heaven.

*sigh* so you don't want to take advice from scripture? that's all I did was quote it. Seems like you're mad because I don't agree with your position. Maybe you should pray about that?

"Dont know about your god, but who needs benefits in heaven. "

*sigh* I guess you haven't read your bible too much about this then? Andrew, please take some time to read some of paul's letters, do an indepth study on them and then maybe hit revalations when you're ready.
