something i feel that is a major issue everywhere, is that people dont know that there are others out there that care about them... i was reminded by this this morning listening to a talk from John Maxwell.. the #1 thing that stood out was "people dont care how much you know, until they know how much you care" its a big problem in my corps at the moment, through all last year i only got 1 phone call from the officers that was at the start of the year, and only because (well this is wat i believe) they heard a rumour that my girlfriend at the time had kids (interesting considering at no stage was she pregnant) however we were were looking after foster kids...
with shift work i am rarely able to make it to church, so i had not attended the corps for like 8 months, not 1 phone call checkin to see if i was still alive....
anyway same thing continues, the new officers havent contacted me, i called 2 day left message, c how long it takes 2 get a reply.. we also are having issues with a corps council (we havent had 1 for like 3 years, was replaced with a leadership team that i was on also, but we only met like in the last 6 months) 1 person that SHOULD NOT be on the council but is... another 1 of them has been asked to lead a youth group, she doesnt even have a passion for it.... how good are the results gunna be wen theres no passion??? my ex-girlfriend has a passion for it but has not been appraoched...
seems like there has been no hand over notes for new officers, sayin this is who done wat, this person has this potential ect: we're in a real mess... sorry bout the winge... please, please brothers and sisters, pray for my corps...
