I voted unfavorable. I am an ex-Catholic that left after researching the doctrine.

Though I have an unfavorable view of the institution of the Catholic Church, I do have a favaroble view of the many Catholic people that I know.

We are all Chrisitan brothers and sisters.

thereselittleflower - sometimes I think you enjoy debating a little too much ;)

Josiah's observation was perfectly valid and this thread was an obvious place to make it. This poll is about our opinions of the Catholic Church. The obvious thing to do with a poll, once conducted is comment on it's implications.

For all of the charges that GT is ant-Catholic, one might have expected the sentiment to be conveyed in this poll, with a bottom heavy result. Perhaps some would have expected a split vote with numbers at either end and few in the middle. Contrary to either expectation though - the results thus far seem to suggest that GT is actually quite pro-Catholic.

Peace

I voted favorable. When I voted, I thought of the center of Catholic praxis and ethos, rather than thought about the sub-movements and/or the distinctives I don't agree with. I voted with an eye to the soul of Catholic worship.

for your quotes, I thot you were going to use the Bible- non the less I do not have anything personal against you guys; but I tend to differ in certain issues
1. priests forgiving people (under whose authority)
2. Forbiding the men of God to marry (Paul was against such teachings)
3. The issue of Mary (baffles me big tym)
If u can elaborate on these issues Then I think I'll be able to vote without any biases.
God bless you

How many times can these be explained??:help: :swoon: They have already been on other threads.

Yes what? We're asked our opinion and when we offer it you take us to task? Why should we play this game? You think we're all in error, and I don't think you understand (or care) what we believe. So why explain?

Neutral leading towards mostly unfavorable. But more neutral than anything.

I do not agree with much of the Catholic Church's teachings on Christianity. I also do not agree with much of their policies regarding world matters. I also do not agree with their version of history.

Most not all, but very much most Catholics I have met in my life are what would commonly be looked at as people who are right with Christ.

And that is really what matters at the end of the day.

I'd be willing to be that most Protestants who have responded have a more favorable view towards the Roman Catholic Church than you do towards Protestantism -- if your responses to other questions posed on these boards is any indication.

Sorry: I just call 'em like I see 'em. :sorry:

I do have to admit that I think these forums are patrolled by the more extremist members of our respective congregations. The "moderates" (the ones who discuss rather than debate and don't reort to the use of polemics and ad hominem) are a rare treat.
