"No not cast aside the need for knowledge. Faith will be necessary no matter how much knowledge you attain, but no amount of faith can replace true knowledge."

Hmm...Now three remain, faith, hope and love...

Don't see knowledge in there anywhere. ;)

aquire WISDOM, not knowledge.

2Peter 1:5
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Romans 10:1 - 3
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Proverbs 2:6 - For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

You do not aquire wisdom, it is given by the Lord through knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:10 - When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

I again say, do not put aside the importance of knowledge.

Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 10:13 - In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

Understanding only comes with knowledge, and wisdom only comes to those that understand.

Proverbs 14:6 - A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

I totally disagree.. you can have all the knowledge in the world and on wisdom what so ever.

You are to seek wisdom, not knowledge. Again, what are the three that remain? Faith, hope and love..don't see knowledge in there anywhere.

I think the book of Ecclesiastes would convince you that knowledge is not something to seek after.

True knowledge brings one to grips with true growth (character developement) when convicted of it & it is accepted.

Easy acceptence or hard acceptence of 'duty' or whatever, is still required.
Regardless...we become accountable either way! (Rev. 3:16-17)
New TRUTH perhaps come into the picture? We find that we have this 'new knowledge'? Such as Rev. 18:4 being a ETERNAL LIFE OR AN ETERNAL DEATH [DECISION] for many. What we do with it is NOT CHASING AFTER THE WIND!! For we are told that to REJECT KNOWLEDGE WILL CAUSE GOD TO REJECT US! Hosea 4:6

There is no understanding without knowledge first.
And there is no wisdom without first understanding.
To know all things is impossible except for God Almighty. But to seek knowledge is not chasing the wind. It is seeking understanding of God.

And yes, you can have all the worlds knowledge, and lack wisdom. What I said was you do not aquire wisdom, it is given by the Lord through knowledge and understanding.

from the passage
Proverbs 2:6 - For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

States quite clearly that the the Lord gives wisdom, and it comes from knowledge and understanding, also given by the Lord.

and for what you lack in knowledge, you must have faith.

First off, any blame or credit for these words goes not to me, but to a preacher I once heard who spoke on the grain of mustard scene.

His definition of faith was: "Invoking the activity of the second party". To break it down: invoking means to want something with all your heart, to plead for or demand it; activity is movement, making something happen; the second party is someone besides yourself, in this case, God.

Faith is when you take your hands off and say, "Okay, Lord, I can't do this but you can - take over" and totally submit the circumstance or situation to His will, and allow Him to do as He chooses with it without interference from us.

We never need "more faith"; we just have to put our faith in the right object - not the doctor, the bank, the church, the preacher, etc., but on God, and to totally surrender to Him, not worrying about the situations we face.

Hope that made some sense.

But surrender is not just a matter of saying "I surrender". It is an activity, a decision you make in your heart and your head. You can pray all you want and say you submit to Him, without ever actually having done so. Faith is trusting in Him enough to leave your own fingers off, and letting Him do what you cannot.

Yes, but you defined faith as
"Invoking the activity of the second party"
and that is praying. It TAKES faith to trust and submit to God's will, but the invokation is asking for the help.
After invoking the activity of God, then faith takes over for the submission to do God's will. And that submission may, like you say, mean getting your fingers out and letting God do something, or it could be accepting instruction from God to redirect your fingers to do the correct thing.
