Yes i know, i was directing it at him :)

Righty-o then :)

re read your post , thats right im asking for opinions , i dont recall me asking for questions about Hillsong?

Fair enough, but if you want my opinion to be morethan half baked, you'll give me more info. Isn't this a revelation to you as how people with vague ideas about your church can taken them and run with them? If you spent more time telling me where my preconcieved ideas were wrong and less time telling me I was hurt, we'd be able to move onto "helen gives her qualified opinion" and that would be the end of that.

oh believe me i am well aware what the Theolgy section thinks of Catholics, Protestants , and any thing else , i spose i look at all the supposed questions i see here and sort of from experience know where this is headed , now somethings i wont answer because i dont need to , because we all have disagreements that cant be changed , but if you have genuine questions then please if you ask in a loving non biased way i will gladly answer them , that is me answering your questions not me defending our beleifs or the size of our church etc ,
and the little things like the above post on what we believe and the questions you asked and not really decent questions IMO , ask more detailed questions about the church if you know what i mean

If you feel unable to answer my questions I will stop asking them. As you have been at Hillsong for 20 years I would have thought nothing about your church would be too hard to answer, as you would know it all by osmosis.

oh i do respond, just not the way you would like :)

Right. I have no 'preferred' responses, dude. I just want to know what you think about what I ask. I do not want to hear what you think I want to hear. I want to hear what YOU think.

come to a Church service and see the difference, put it this way , i dont watch it on TV at all :)

I'm not in Syney or Adelaide. Please tell me why you think they are different?

Hi mods! I'm just defending myself and then stopping. Please give me some leeway. Thanks in advance!

What would be the point in that ? what that then make you realise that the Catholic Church is not the way and what we said was true? or would just create more arguments that seem to go on and on and on without any conclusion?

I am not looking for proof of who is "right" here. I am trying to more fully understand your church's ideas. Since being on CF I have learned about Calvinists, Lutherans, Baptists, Orthodox, various non-denoms and various Christians, and I thought I might be able to add Hillsong to the list. Clearly this is not the place to do it. :sigh:

I mean you could say that Hillsong church is evil because it has strobe lights (it doesnt just thought i would add that ) and give me a chapter and verse of why you think that , then i could counter that with the reason why we do it , then you would counter that , no one wins it just gets frustrating

I have not ever said I think Hillsong is evil. I do not think Hillsong is evil. I think it is not as well formed as it could be, but that is different to being evil. I'm not trying to win. I'm on a fact finding mission.

I have talked in detail about out Church and our beliefs to many people from different denominations and religions , and through that you can discern who are the people who really want to know to the people that ask questions so they then can give their opinion that they have held all along and wont change . i spose when i sense the later i just stop because i know its not worth going any further

I have admitted here more than once that I don't think my opinion about your church is particularly informed. I am trying to inform it. Being informed I will be highly unlikely to convert to Hillsong, but that doesn't mean that I can't be interested in it, and can't wish to know more about it, so that I'm not saying the wrong thing.

It's like on GT when people assert that Catholics worship Mary. We tell them we don't and explain why people think we do, so that they can no longer claim innocence when they decide to repeat this claim.

I am trying to give you the same opportunity here. If you don't want to inform me then that is your choice. Just don't get upset if I say "the wrong thing" because I didn't know any better.

As-salaam-alaikum!

on amore important note lol , how do you do the quotes with the persons name on it a swell?
I would suggest that you scroll to the bottom of the page where there is a box that says "Posting rules" click the link that says "vB code is on" and check out how to do it manually.

On another highjack. Why do you use "i" when talking about yourself? I don't understand why you do that.

Back to your regular viewing.

Quote:
What We Believe

God is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine.
The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living.
Jesus is God showing himself to us.
Through His Holy Spirit, God lives in and through us now.
Nothing in creation “just happened.” God made it all.
Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God.
Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God.
God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice, God can bring good even out of evil events and God promises victory over evil to those who choose him.
Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
The church is to serve people like Jesus served people..
Jesus is coming again.

Which church has this as their statement of faith?

Sorry.. double post... it's like saying "Huh?" I didn't understand that statement of why you were asking why someone refers to themselves as "I" when they are talking about themself. Unless we are to refer to ourselves as someone else.

That church statement of faith comes from "Saddleback Church" in California. Ps. Rick Warren's church (Purpose Driven Life author).

Ah, but he doesn't refer to himself by the use of "I" he refers to himself by the use of "i". There is a world of difference. One is grammatically correct, the other is not. I ask because I don't know why you would do this. To me it is the same as writting your name as peter when it is actually Peter.
