Some of my friends have said in the past that they didn't like the Beatles (one even said all of the songs sounded the same... ). Later, those same friends would be over at my house, hear some music I was listening to, say "Hey...I like that, who is it?" and I'd say.."The Beatles!!" :D

LOL. Yeah, I can't believe that some people haven't ever heard of them. It seems so odd to me, lol.

i just got out of the bath, wherein i listened to sgt. peppers.

I don't mean to open a can of worms, but in my opinion, they are the best band of all time. That being said, they aren't my favorite band, but i definately appreciate their music, and when i listen to sgt. peppers, abbey road, revolver, white album, rubber soul, or magical mystery tour, I simply TRIP BALLS!!!

Some people do hate them. that's not a lie. people are entitled to their opinions. If there wasn't hate for the beatles, my love for them wouldn't seem as strong. right? in this crazy world that we live in today, a lot of people throw around terms like "overrated" when it comes to the beatles. That's fine. but when i take a candlelit bath, or have a chill hookah night with a few choice friends, THERE AIN'T NOTHING LIKE TRIPPING BALLS TO THE BEATLES. at that point, you know all those people who say they're overrated are out of their flipping minds. Listen to "A Day In The Life" and tell me the beatles suck.

I can understand why they aren't the favorite band of some people...probably because some people prefer to listen to classical music, swing, jazz, etc. Which I can relate too because I also HIGHLY appreciate such music. The only music forms I don't really have much appreciation for are rap and heavy metal/screamo. I'm not a big country person either, but I do like some country and can appreciate it because the music itself is usually well written.

But in my opinion...the Beatles were the greatest band of all time!!

Honestly, if you like Rock N Roll, how can you NOT like the Beatles?
Becasue the early stuff is sappy lovey-dovey-girly-pop stuff, (they're like the New Kids on the Block of the mid 60s) and much of their later stuff is incoherent?

The were great during their middle period, when they stopped being a girly-pop band but before their brains had been fried though.

:headbang: (We really need a headbang smiley)
Yes, but for the Beatles?

Nope..I refuse to believe such a person exists
How about the existence of someone who thinks they were inferior to "The Beach Boys"(who they knocked off the top of the charts) and that the cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends" that was the opening song for "The Wonder Years" was better than the Beatles version?;)

Nope. That sort of person doesn't exist either :p It'd be impossible for the Beach Boys to be better...

I guess "I" must just be a physical manifestation of Musical Contrarianism then huh? ;)

Sure it is.The Beach Boys were much much better lyricists. The Beatle's lyrics were often not even coherent. "I am the eggman, they are teh walrus, Iam am the eggman, koo koo kachoob"? The entirety of "Lucy in the SKy with Diamonds"?

They even screw up the lyrics to their own song.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

Molly stays at home and does her pretty face
And in the evening she's a singer with the band

That's your band that's better than The Beach Boys? :p
