Wouldn't the Anime&Manga board fit better under Entertainment?

Seems like its more "Entertainment" than "Hobby". I mean, 'entertainment' usually implies consumption while 'hobby' implies creation, and all of the threads I've seen are about existing series, rather than stuff that users have made.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm not terribly opinionated about the idea, just thought of it just now.

I can understand both sides of the issue. On one hand, it is entertainment - on the other, those interested in it make a focus, much like a hobby would be (then again, so do gamers and that's under Entertainment).

So yeah, I'm thinking it would fit under Entertainment too.

(and for the creation aspect, I have posted a couple of announcements for AMVs I've made, but those are few and far between because I'd been too involved with making tracks for multi-editor projects like AMV Hell CE, or currently managing to scrape things up for AMV Hell 4)

Yeah, but the discussion here revolves around existing shows/comics. Same sort of thing goes for the movies, plays, and games boards, which are all under Entertainment.

Sure, people could make movies, but like here, nobody in the movies board is actually discussing that, hence why the board is under Entertainment.

I'm not trying to be pushy about this since it's really a non-issue, was just curious about what people thought of the idea.

No, I don't think so. Anime is too broad a term. What would you fit it under? Comics? Books? Television? Movies?

Besides, those who like anime also obsess over the Japanese culture. For some people, who like cosplay and the like and dye their hair the same colour as their favourite character, it's also practially a lifestyle. I think it fits rather well under hobbies, because it can't be categorised as simply anything else.
