Hi,

I have been off from work the last couple of weeks. During this time, I have done alot of walking around where I live. as i walk I pray and listen to the LORD. During this time the Lord has impressed on me that I need to keep do this, walking through my nieghborhood and pray for my nieghbors. I need to reach out and be friendly and helpful. I need to show my nieghbors the love of Christ. In many ways this sounds incredibly simple, but i didn't really understand that until know.

I've always been a very private person. I leave my nieghbors alone, they leave me alone. But that isn't right. Everywhere there are people who are lost, with no one to pray for them.

So in a sense I must become a missonary in my hometown.

I someways, this is very intimating, for the most part I can be quite shy. right now all I'm doing is saying "HI" and praying as I walk down the streets. The Lord will show me where to go and what to do.

It been a fun and wonderful experience.

May be you can be a missonary to your hometown?

Ed, have safe travel on your missions trip and may you lead someone in your neighborhood to Christ. I believe if you sincerely seek Him for guidance and opportunities right there in your neighborhood, you will see salvation. And, you are right it an awesome feeling. I read somewhere that a group of women made a committment to God to share the gospel with four neighborhood homes. What started out as a simple hello or a smile, lead to a few salvations. Imagine for a moment if each christian would pray for their neighbors what could happen? I believe the Lord expects us to do our part in missions projects. You don't have to be clear across the globe to tell others about Him. 14 months ago, I learned alot about my neighbor's simply by observing and listening. The hubby had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and to complicate things, his wife has been paralyzed due to complications in back surgery. He was a TOUGH nut to crack, believe me. But today I can proudly confirm that he has made peace with God! I am so thankful that once I started asking Him to give me the opportunities, He was faithful. Ed, not always will your travel be a success, but persevere and keep praying while your walking around your area.
