You mean for people that build houses in floodplains, on wildfire prone hillsides or hurricane target beachfronts? How about people that buy super fast sportcars and superbikes?

Forgive me if when ever I see "reckless and irresponsible" in these sorts of discussions, I wonder if peoeple would say "if they build their house where nature is likely to destroy it, or drive too fast, they deserve to lose their property and hopefully die in the process"... just like it sounds like they're doing when it comes to reproductive health care (and sometimes health care in general).

If they buy property in dangerous areas without insurance, of course- they deserve no help from the government.

I'm a libertarian- I'm not ashamed of it. If you want to support a private organization- that's fine. Don't expect me to also want to support it when all the organization does is help people that engage in sexual behavior when they aren't prepared for it.

Interesting that NOBODDY else mentions this except for pro-life websites.

If this even BEGAN to be true, Planned Parenthood would put the word out "We need help! Please donate!"

And this is from Planned Parenthood's own website, locations and number of clinics ( http://www.plannedparenthood.org/findCenterProcess.asp )

That gives a total of 938 health clinics

But...according to the article, there are "817 "health" clinics" currently active. So apparently this publication lied...immagine that

Parents and boyfriends force women to get abortions all the time.

Young women go through with it because the men they love threaten to leave them if they don't. Parents threaten to throw their daughters out on the street if they don't.

It happens a *LOT* more than you think. How often does PP ask women why they are getting an abortion and whether or not they are pressured into one? Like, never.

Actually, PP refused to perform an abortion on my friend because they asked her if she had been pressured to have one and she said yes. Even after she walked out, dealt with her family's rage and then walked back in saying that, yes, she wanted to have it done, they refused.

Wow...thanks for doing that bit of research

When I read the OP and saw that they were specifically labeled “health clinics” and then claims were made about numbers…I wondered if American Life League was playing a game of semantics…it seems they are.

Again I have to wonder why so many Christian sites present dishonest information

Amazing how those attacking PP never want to talk about things like this

Yes, praise god for nowhere to get advice on sexual health, praise god for no available contraception and the possibility of reverting back to street-end abortions! Praise god for being so uptight and paranoid about the evils and dirtiness of sex.
Yes praise God that Planned Parenthood is closing their clinics!   I hope they all close down personally.

My wife and I did our own planning for parenthood, it worked out great.

If a place has a trick name, I tend to stay away from it.
Like if a funeral home calls itself a life planning center.

I have no problem with helping people in any way they can be helped. But the truth is actually more loving and more helpful than a lie.
If a person is on the wrong track someone needs to tell them. Supporting people in the wrong decision process is not loving, it's actually deadly.
Going back to the trick name; this is the hint of all hints. It's a trap, the door to lifelong assistance through the support of and justification of bad choices has no doorknob on the inside. Don't let that door close on you, run when you read the trick name.

But this is just my opinion,

Praise God also for being so corporate as to tell people not to steal! Stealing is good for all!

Planned Parenthood closes clinic after clinic
  :amen:

Planned Parenthood provides approximately a quarter of a MILLION surgical abortions every year.
In contrast, Planned Parenthood provides prenatal care to about 1/14th that number.

I see alot of you posters on here who are opposed to the war in Iraq, constantly decrying the loss of life, supporting Planned Parenthood. How do you reconcile such blatant hypocrisy within yourselves?

My parents got me birth control pills at age 15 from a dr. It probably didn't cost much, because if I were paying for mine now, they would be $24 a month.
I take them now for the same reason I did way back then, they take away debilitating cramps.

Then they weren't free, they were just free to you. I don't know why you aren't paying for yours, but It was quite a bit more than $24 a month for mine 13 years ago.

Similar experience with a client of mine, she was hysterical because a clinic turned her away because it was obvious she did not want an abortion, unfortunately her violent husband wanted her to have one. Fortunately our DV shelter wasn't full and she was ready to leave.

It was planned parenthood that provided my prenatal care when I was pregnant at 17. Sorry you'd like them all to go, they were a great help to me.

Source? I recall seeing a graph of the procedures that PP provides, abortions was far from the top of the list. I'll try to hunt it down.

Planned Parenthood Report (see pg 11)

and my figures were wrong... there were actually fewer cases of prenatal care than I mentioned.

Also, notice the number of Adoption referrals. Contrast that number to the number of children they murder each year (fewer than 1 per 100).... now that is sad.

And it is for this reason alone you find people in this thread opposed to Planned Parenthood. Not for any service they provide but ONE.
