Thanks a lot, LittleLamb. I'm really hoping that everyone can start seeing that all religions have Truth in them. It's really the only way that peace on earth can finally become a reality.
Raffster,
In one way, I think you are on the right path. Love is the greatest commandment from our Lord. However, it is not the religions of the world that hold the truth, but Christ. The greatest deceptions are those that hold a "bit" of the truth in them.
It is not which religion is right or wrong. It is not which Christian denomination is right or wrong. It is simply Christ. Be a disciple of Christ, a true one, and in that, you will find the only truth there is.
Please remember that Christianity is the only religion that forgives sins rather than causing the individual to "work" towards Heaven. The truth is that God loves us enough to forgive us. Yet, in His infinite mercy, His infinite justice must be satisfied as well. Christ died for us, not so that any and all religions could be right, but so that through Him, God's love and justice could BOTH be satisfied.
To discard the label of Christian in lieu of the label of "seeker" is to make the sacrifice of Christ in vain. I do understand. I turned my back on the Christian "religion" for 23 years. The things I saw Christians say and do made me sick. What I have learned since is that I have to keep my eyes on Christ. Forget everyone around me and what I am doing, and simply concentrate on Christ. It means loving my fellow Christians even when the ugly horns of hypocrisy shows. We have to forgive one another. In our weakness, we are made strong through Christ.
Instead of walking away from your faith, or embracing ALL faiths, think of this revelation as a gift from God. Pray over it. Why has God shown you this truth but allows others to remain blind? Is it so that you can teach other Christians the true meaning of being a Christian?
Defend the defenseless. Defend the faith. Defend the truth. Speak forth the truth my brother, but do not turn you eyes away from the Truth, the Life, and the Way.
Love in Christ,
Lisa
