Hi there!
Ugly Betty is a "fish out of water" story about a young woman named Betty Suarez. She's hopelessly fashion backwards, but she's smart and has a heart of gold. She gets a job at Mode magazine (think Vogue), where hilarity ensues because of how she is always sticking out.
There's a great cast, including her boss Daniel, the perpetual bachelor; Wilhemina, the scheming fashion director who wants Daniel's job as editor; her gay assistant; Selma Hayek (forgot her character's name), the editor of a women's lib magazine who strikes up a romance with Daniel; and Betty's family, including her illegal-immigrant father, beautiful sister who is a single mom, and nephew Justin who is more into fashion that baseball.
It's just a very good hearted but wickedly funny series about these people and what they're trying to get out of life. If you haven't seen an episode, go to
