I think everyone knows that, but the problem is, how much less should someone eat? Everyone is built differently, and different people will require different amounts to lose weight in a healthy manner.

And how do you keep from feeling hungry when you eat less? I think that is what get most people. They know they should eat less—but when they do they feel hungry and then overeat to make up for the hungry feeling.

i'm not sure if you guys wanted advice but in terms of how much a serving should be: it should be the size of your fist. and when it comes to getting hungry if you make healthy choices that usually doesn't happen very much, but if it does drink at least 2 glasses of water before you decide to have a snack. most people confuse hunger with thirst.

My daily food intake this week will consist of...
Breakfast: 1 banana
Lunch: instant oatmeal made with skim milk
Dinner: Cup of light yogurt.

Total calories for each day: 330

Yeah, I get hungry, but it's the only way I've found that actually works for me. I used to spend hours at the Y walking the track and hitting the weight machines. Never lost more than 5 or 6 pounds in the year that I went. In three months of doing my "eat next to nothing" diet off an on, I've lost about 50 pounds. I still have about 150 more to go though.

your daily calorie intake being only 330 calories is dangerously low. you can't get enough nutrients that way not to mention that can lead to eating disorders if it hasn't already. you need at least 1200 calories a day maybe mor depending on your height weight activity level and so on.

i too have 200 lbs to loose. i directly asked my doctor about this kind of a fasting diet and he said it will eventually cause muscle loss. His advice was a 1500 cal per day diet, nothing less. Despite the really nice results you have, i'd love to loose weight at that rate (i'm at about 15lbs/month), i really don't want to do it at the expense of muscle. i guess i'll have to walk more miles to burn up those calories i'm eating but in the long run that is everyone's recommendation.

as a holistic nutrition student i can tell you that 300 calories a day is not a fasting diet or cleansing diet. that is starving your body and it is VERY dangerous. you need to choose healthy and nutritious foods. you also need to exercise working up to cardio at least 3 times a week. i know i'm new on this forum but i know what i'm talking about. my family has seen great results on the inside and outside. i now don't have to take allergy or asthma medicine because of changing the foods i eat to something healthier. if anyone wants any help they can pm me.
