Interesting. I've met Christians who understand Bible prophecy as a positive thing the fulfillment of which they ought to contribute to, the fulfilment of the establishment of the kingdoms of... uh, oh, sorry... they Kingdom (without the 's') of God on earth.
Seeing that the only Christians it would seem who really interpret it in such a negative light are from the US Bible Belt, then why not try to establish a world federation minus the US. It would be agreed that this federation would do nothing to try to pressure the US into it, recognising the right of the US to isolate itself as it wishes from the rest of its brethren.
As for the rest of the world, we develop a prosperous world federation and welcome Americans through a liberal immigration policy. Inversely, we could request that the US reciprocate by welcoming all foreign Christians who desire isolation to move there. That way, we could end up with the US serving as a dumping ground for fundamentalists while the US would see the rest as a dumping ground for all those heathens who choose to not interpret the Bible in the same borbid sense they do.
Of course we might need to do the same with others too. We could allow Israel exist as a Zionist dumping fround and Saudi Arabia as another dumping ground. That way all the fundies would have their own little world to retreat to to live in their own little happy paradise. While the rest of us could live in a large open world federation giving us the freedom to travel God's kingdom and make friends with our brethren from around the world. This way we'd all be happy.
Only one condition. The US would not be allowed to attack the federation on the grounds that it's the 'anti-Christ or some other rediculous thing. If this should happen, then the US ought to be conquered and made to sign an agreement that, should it want to become an independent Christian theocracy again, it will have to agree to never arm again after that.
I think this would be fair enough.
What do you think? It's a plan?
