What do similarities between the Bible and the Quran prove, really? It is a fundamental Islamic doctrine that the Bible includes a lot of divine truth, even if diluted by false teachings. Thus it is only to be expected that the Quran and the Bible match at times.

Is there a similarity between the Gospels and the OT?

5- Original Sin is basic in Christianity while according to the Holy Quran all people are born pure , he/she is responsible for his/her own sins and not someone else's:

Genesis 35 : 22 Robin , son of prophet Jacob comitted incests with his father's concubine !

Genesis 38 : 13- 30 Juda comitted incest with his stepmother !

Numbers 20 : 12 both Moses and Aron did not believe in God !

Deut 32 : 51 Both Moses and Aron betrayed God !

1Sam 18 : 27 David killed 200 Palestinians and presented their foreskins to the king as a dowery!

1Sam 19:24 'And he (Saul) stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before &#8206;Samuel in like manner, and lay down NAKED all that day and all that night Wherefore they &#8206;say, Is Saul also among the prophets? "

1Sam 21 : 13 David pretended he was insane !

2Sam 21 : 13 David danced and was mocked !

2Sam 11 : 3-28 David comitted adultry with a married woman , and ploted to kill her husband!

2Sam 13 : 1-15 Amnon , son of David comittred incest with his sister Tamar!

2Sam 16:22 Abshalom , son of David comitted adultry with his father's concubines !

1Kings 11 : 1-13 Solomon apostated , built temples for idol worshipping, disobeyed God by marrying 1000 women inspite of Deut 17:17 , and disobeyed God by that marriage Deut 7:3 !

Isai 20:3-4 &#8206;walked NAKED and &#8206;barefoot three years !!!

Worst of all is what the Bible claims happened to Jesus PBUH. I will not go into detail for the matter is too long and known to everyone !

Another way to look at it is if the author of both books is God, then one is not copied from the other. God is simply re-iterating points that He wants us to know. I think people deprive themselves of amazing insights when they fail to look for alternative explanations.

As for similarities, there shd be over 100. The differences though are what separate muslims from christians.

OK. If you are in to alternative explanations, then allow me to use my Bible to interpret your religion since they come from the same god in your view. If you reject, then you should not make the claim that you have.

BTW: God does not author books that do not harmonize with each other. That would discount any book that came after the Bible that claims to progress any revelation from it or outside of it. Consider it a copy if the authors are different, which is the case from the perspective or Christianity.

The main distinction is that the NT does not try to invalidate the OT, rather it uses lots of OT scripture in it to bring the full understanding of OT into the NT and reciprocates by taking strictly NT scripture and relating it to OT. The Qur'an and Baha'ullah's Kitab al-Aqdas do not do this, They claim newer revelation because the older revelations were somehow inferior and were for that particualar time. This is not why the NT was brought forth. It was because the fulfillment of Jesus, The Christ, had not yet materialized (incarnated) in flesh. Jesus was to bring finality to human salvation, which was the sole reason in the first place of there being a NT.

I agree, God harmonizes everything extremely well, the fact that we can miss the harmony throughout is not a result of God's inability to do so, but rather our inability to see it.

This post lost me right here. If Muhammad's claim is true, how could it be called stealing? It isn't as if it's a new made-up religion that should be totally different. To say that Muslims stole the bulk of its religion would be just as silly as saying that Christians stole the bulk of theirs.
