The reason I keep thinking that HRG is a bad guy is because of NBC's promos -- they always refer to him as evil. Red herring maybe??

And yeah I had the same thought about the placebo in place of the heroin. But then I also thought that Eden was going to have to shoot up too. She said, "You promised I'd never have to do that again" so I thought that's what she was referring to. But then she didn't seem high, so... I guess not.
Yeah,, definately red herring. The promos always show stuff that ain't so, and you find that out once you watch the episode. :)

No, she definately wasn't high...lol. I think she was talking about using her powers in that way, to push someone to do something like that. That's why I think that she just convinced him that he was high, because he thinks he has to have the drug to do it, when we all know he don't. I don't think they would put his body thru the trauma of getting him cleaned up, then high again, then clean again. Can't wait to see if I'm right.

You know what I was wondering? Do you think that Claire's dad might actually be helping the Heroes? Meaning- Sylar kills the Heroes he knows about- what if Claire's dad is trying to protect the ones Sylar does not know about like the cop and radioactive hand man? It would explain the little marks. Maybe he does something that protects them from Sylar's radar?
The cop did have a brush with Sylar, but it seems that Sylar was after the little girl whose parents were killed- not the cop.
Sylar has killed heroes that we didnt know a whole lot about.
I don't write the show, I can't say things for sure, but it' is a theory that's just moving around my head. I think it would be cool if that was the case.

I think Sylar might be an experiment gone bad. HRG said they've been tracking the special people for what, 14 years? Sylar may have been one of the first ones to be made special, maybe through Chandra's research, but something went horribly wrong. Now he's the classic anti-hero, the villain who used to be on the good side of things.

Don't you love it how people with telekinesis always make their coffee mugs come to THEM? L:DL

Looks like Hiro teleported himself a bit too far back into time... I wonder how he decides where he'll be and how far back he goes? Is it just a concentration thing?

So, now the cat is out of the bag for Matt's wife (the cop).

Oh!

The waitress was talking about a trip around the world that she was going to take and when she looked at the Cop's crossword puzzle, she mentioned the name of that city in India (can't remember exactly what it was), but it's the same city where whatshisname when to scatter his father's ashes.

And then she said that Tokyo was her "third" stop.

Anyone know what trip she's referring to?

I think your theory may be on the ball with regards to the marks on Radiation Guy and Matt (cop).

BTW, what on earth does HRG stand for? I know y'alls are referring to Claire's dad, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it stands for! :help:

Can someone give me a quick set up on this show?

It looks interesting. DO these people have powers or are they just normal people doing heroic things?

Like this week, "save the cheerleader, Save the world?"
Is this different stories of heros(real life) or is it about fictional charactures and telling of their encounters?

It's fictional characters with real powers that they have just recently received (most of the time) and don't really know what to do with them yet. They are starting to figure things out, and the first "mission" if you will, is to save the cheerleader. Just here recently, the characters are starting to find out about each other and cross paths for the first time.

There is a lot of detail and history on the show that you can probably find on NBC's Heroes site. You can also watch a few (not sure how many they keep up) back episodes there, and they repeat on Sci-Fi as well.

The story behind the show suggests that various people, by way of evolution, will develop certain abilities.

There was a professor who was doing research on this stuff. Previously, it was only believed to be a wild theory, much to the embarassment of his son, Mohinder.

Turns out that there are actual cases and the father somehow developed an algorithm that helped him to locate these people and the rate at which these occurances took place.

As for the people with the abilities, they're now learning about them for the first time in a sort of accidental way.

The Cheerleader (Claire) - Realizes that she's can heal easily... she's pretty much invincible.

The Cop (Matt) - Suddenly realizes that he can hear peoples' thoughts.

The Artist (Isaac) - Finds out that when he injects himself with heroin, he can paint pictures that show events that will happen in the future.

The Politician (Nathan) - Tries to save his brother, Peter, from a suicide attempt and realizes that he can fly.

The Depressed Support Worker (Peter) - Nathans brother. We suspect that he's sorta like Rogue from X-Men in that he can mimic the abilities of other "heroes" that he comes into contact with. For example, when he's with his brother, he can fly as well.

The Single Mom (Nikki) - She has a split personality, sorta like TwoFace from the Batman series. Her darker side, named Jessica, has super strength and can whoop some serious butt.

The Convict (DL) - This is Nikki's baby daddy. He was framed (by Jessica, no less) for murder and sent to jail. He escaped once he found out that he could, wait for it..................................... WALK THROUGH MATTER!!!

The Boy Genius (Micah) - This is Nikki and DL's son. We recently learned that he can fix machinery/electronics just by touching them.

Radioactive Man - A guy who suddenly learns that he emits radiation at an accelerated rate. He can burn things to a crisp, but things also die when they're around him. His wife died from radiation poisoning (his fault). It is believed that he will cause an explosion of some kind in the near future.

The Time Stopper (Hiro) - Everyone's favorite character. A Japanese guy who can both stop time, and travel into the future and the past. He travels to the future and sees NY explode because of some kind of bomb or other detonation. While in a future, he sees that The Artist (Isaac) is dead... his head cut open. He also finds a comic book with him as the main character as well as the events of his life (yet to be done). This is the guy that you saw saying, "Save the cheerleader.. save the world".

The Bad Guy (Sylar) - We know little about him except for the fact that he's going out and trying to kill all of the heroes. He does this by cutting their heads open and removing their brains. We learned recently that he has telekinetic powers, but he remains faceless.

Hope this helps!!

Sylar has an unique way of getting his victims to open up I noticed.
LOL... I guess you could say that....^_^ I am still trying to figure out why he is killing them, and NO it's NOT to eat their brains. (that is what quite a few think on the Heroes board... sheesh!)

Gravestone? I saw a glimpse of one but cannot for the life of me remember who's gravestone it is. As for Eden's powers, it looks like she is able to stablize the other heroes' powers, ie. Sylar. She seems a bit sketchy if you ask me - am still trying to decide whether or not she's one of the good ones.

And can I say that I absolutely *HEART* Mohinder!?!?!?! He is one fine specimen of a man!! :yum:
