I'm new and I have questions!!!

heehee i was beggining to think your crazy..lol but no i hear things too. j/p sometimes i pray outloud and sometimes i pray in my head in really doesnt matter cause god hears all your prayers no matter how loud or how soft they are. and about animals being our guideance i wouldnt know what to say on that one, it sounds pretty cool that a crow would save you from killing a little girl. i know that wasnt the devil cause the devil would have just made you run right smack over that girl. and it's good that you say those things to satan.!! keep it up and god bless

You usually pray out loud if there are other people nearby praying with you. I usually just do it in my head.

Belief that animals themselves are messengers is kinda a New Age belief, something that you might want to shy away from. I think God sent the crow to get your attention so that you might not hit the girl, which is really cool. The crow is not like a "mini-god." The focus should be on God, not the crow.

In other words, God is greater than His creation. We must treat Him that way.

YES! Satan CAN hear your thoughts! I know that because many evil thoughts have come into my head that I know God would have never said to me. Satan is very intelligent, but Jesus is stronger!

yep, usually in a church setting.... and before meals, when praying in a gathering, i pray outloud. Sometimes i tried doing that when i was alone, but that felt so weird... anyway, that's just me. oh, and don't forget to pray in Jesus's name, and remember, you can pray anywhere and anytime with anything that you want to talk about with the Father.

i agree with psycmajor about the crow. An animal is an animal afterall, and putting trust in it is like putting trust on something other than God. The Israelites had found that a hard lesson when they put thier trust in the golden calf in the OT.

The spoken word contains great power.&nbsp; The power to heal, to reconcile, to hurt, to cause pain.&nbsp; We need to be careful of what we say.&nbsp; God knows what we are thinking, and also knows what we are going to pray for; even before we say it.&nbsp; However He wants our confession, for us to step out in faith and actually say/pray it outloud.

I'm in agreement with Lambslove. we have no Scriptual basis to believe that satan can read our thoughts. I think that the only way that he can tell what we are thinking or if he is having an effect on us is by what we say or what we do. This is just another reason why we need to be careful, not paranoid, but careful to measure and control our words. There are many scriptures that speak to this, in particular Proverbs 18:21 which says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Scripture also doesnt indicate that God shares the ability to examine the heart and mind of man with the Devil or anyone else. I think that satan may have a "conception" of what a person may be thinking. But he does have a few thousand years of experience to draw from. He knows how men usually think and react, he knows our weaknesses, both corporately and personally and of course is out to exploit them.
I pray both out loud and to myself, depending on where I am, and what's going on around me. I know that the "sword of the spirit" is a very powerful weapon against evil, and satan will flee, when we praise or pray out loud, he hates it when we do that. I don't believe that there is a wrong or right way in either praying outloud or to yourself. No matter how you pray it is an extremely important part of victory as Believers in our struggle with the evil one- which is something satan wants us to doubt and walk in confusion about. Always remember that satan is defeated, he has nowhere near the power and none of the authority which our God has; and as God's children, we are victorious warriors in Christ with all the power necessary to overcome all the power of the devil ( Luke 10:19).

Satan can read your thoughts! An idea that God would not agree with comes to your mind, and Satan just eggs it on! Or, it just came straight from Satan! I know this personally.

There was someone who really hurt me about a year and a half ago. I thought about how much she hurt me, and I believe Satan took advantage of the situation, and egged me on. I think he planted ideas such as, "Look what she did to you! She needs to be paid back! Don't you hate her?" The more I thought about it, the worse it God. I just believe that Satan exacerbated the situation. It is true, "Idle hands are the devil's playground," and I think that is at least partly what happened to me. I did not want to turn the other cheek for the longest time (Mt 5:39), and this anger consumed me for a long time, until I decided that this anger inspired in me was not doing me any good.

The question as to does satan read our thoughts is one that I brought up on another forum. I got many different opinions and still do not know the answer. I have always felt like he was capable. However, the more that I think about it, I am still confused. Some argued that we give Satan more credit than he is worth. He is a fallen angel.angels have no power to read our thoughts. There isn't any scripture that confidently says he can or can't. Main thing to remember, do your best to keep your thoughts clean. Not because satan knows your thoughts, but because God does, and we don't want to hinder our relationship with Him.

I agree with what was said about the crow and prayer.

However, none of the verses in this thread give an iota of evidence that satan can read thoughts. satan wants to keep us in fear, and out of the Word. satan wants to appear as though he is very smart and omniscient.

satan can implant lies into our minds, as the verses in this thread show; but, he most certainly cannot read our minds.

ONLY God knows all things, and knows our True thoughts (Psalm 94:11)

Also, we make our own decisions about what we want to think about. Do we choose to oppose God or please God?

satan is not too intelligent. In fact, he's an outright moron- he is trying to wage a war against God, that God has already won!

When you feel attacked by satan, who wants us all in sin, the best thing to do is to "fix your eyes on Jesus" and get in your Bible!

Every answer is in the Bible. Good to see both sides in various topics, but to always read the Word yourself to see the Truth. Interpretation is not needed, just an understanding of the whole Truth.

Satan speaking to your mind to plant thoughts is alot different than reading your thoughts. for him the know your thoughts would be giving him an ability that the Bible only speaks of God having. Further Satan is not omnipresent, omniscient, or omnipotent. And since he would rather put his efforts into "BIGGER FISH" I would assume that most of us have only been attacked by demons. So the question would then become can an average demon read your thoughts. I don't think there is any Biblical precedent for it.

satan not being able to hear our thoughts. But having been around awhile he has had time to learn on how humans think and respond. Or on the crow.
But now the Holy Spirit of God who lives on the inside of you is your guide and teacher. teaching books or even studies books on the Holy Spirit, what it is to be born again, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how God speaks to us and how God speaks through his word would be of value to you.
Also praying in the name of Jesus . Rebuking satan in the name of Jesus.

That Glorious Name

In Jesus' Name. It's more than a phrase we tack onto the end of our
prayers. All that God is and does is represented in the Name of Jesus.
The Amplified Bible says when you ask in His Name, you present your
requests to the Father on the basis of all that Jesus is. So you can
boldly expect to have those requests granted--not because you're worthy,
but because He is!

What's more, the Name of Jesus carries authority over all other names.
In Philippians 2:5-11, the Apostle Paul tells us, "God also hath highly
exalted him [Jesus], and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
and things in earth, and things under the earth."

In spite of all the Word of God has to say about the power of the Name
of Jesus, most believers don't seem to put much stock in it. They'll
pray in the Name of Jesus, then turn right around and say, "I sure hope
God answers that prayer." They don't realize that if they only had the
faith to believe it, Jesus' Name alone carries enough clout to guarantee
their prayers will be answered.

They even let religious slang rob them of the power of using that Name.
I've heard many a well-meaning believer end his prayer with the phrase,
"For Jesus' sake." But Jesus didn't say to pray for His sake. He said to
pray in His Name.

I used to make that mistake myself. One night I was praying because I
was suffering from a stomachache. "Oh, for Jesus' sake," I prayed, "heal
my stomach."

After I'd said that a few times, the Lord spoke up on the inside of me.
"Wait a minute," He said, "whose stomach is hurting here, Mine or
yours?"

"Mine!" I answered.

Then He very plainly said, "In that case, pray for your stomach's sake,
in My Name!"

Jesus' Name. Dig into the Word and find out just how much power and
authority it really carries. Then use that power every time you pray.
Stop hoping God will answer and start expecting Him to cause every
circumstance in your life to bow its knee in honor of that glorious
Name!
