I think there are qualities that we have a tendancy to see in other people. Things that we personally value, in say friends. And then tend to steer clear of the qualities we dont like (and not really want to be friends with those that display those unwanted qualities).
My mom has a gift with seeing things that no else can see. For example, when we used to go house hunting, she would see this horrible house, and want it. Not because of what we could see, but she focused on the potental in the house. Of course we didnt want to see the potential as kids, lol, cuz that meant we had to do work.
Perhaps that is what God sees when he looks, not what we are, but what we will be when the work is complete.
And perhaps we only see the work, lol.

It's like when you look at them you can tell what they are like,sometimes you can even tell wether or not they are of God, sometimes it can happen without looking at them, just know they are by.
