New Evanescence album: "The Open Door"

It sucks. The 7th track is pretty cool though.

I admit I was very disappointed in the album. I don't think Amy or Ben understand the chemistry they had together. One without the other... well, we've seen now what happens.

Evanescence were never good. Their music was bombastic crappola from the start!

it's just as bad as her trying to sing live...

I actually love both her CD's-and I think they are good.

I think I'll do what I usually do....listen to the previews on iTunes before I buy.

I actually quite like it.

It takes a bit of getting used to because its darker than the last album but there are still some stand out tracks.

and I have listened to some of it and the only song i like is call me when your sober,the rest may grow on ya but i'm not buying this cd just mp3 on one song.

Personally, I like it more than I like the first one. I'm listening to it right now.

my mom went and bought it and i listened to it all thr way through. i like lithium and this is worth it to just give it a listen. she writes odd but i like the cd enough to listen to it without skipping songs-

I also like the song "Your Star" though it starts off really slow...

I've heard really mixed reviews about it, mostly down on the fact that it doesn't seem to transition well between tracks, if that makes any sense. No segue.
I'm holding out on it. It's on my Christmas list.

I can honestly say that I like "Fallen" better than "The Open Door". At least 1/3 of the songs outright suck. That being said, I shall give some of the tracks another listen.

And yes, the seventh track ("Lacrymosa") is absolutely fabulous. The best one on the album, IMO.

Overall, I think the album wasnt all that great; not as good Fallen and no match for Not for Your Ears. I wouldnt say it outright sucked though, I can listen to the CD without feeling discontent.

I liked Lacrymosa alot as well. For whatever reason, Sweet Sacrifice amused me.

Apparently, the violin section is from Mozart's Requiem Mass. B/c the track makes use of classical music, I doubt it'll be released as a single (not mainstream enough)

I've heard the second single will be "Lithium". This is also one of the better tracks on the album (it's absolutely stunning, IMO).

I should hit myself for not catching that. I enjoy quite a bit of Mozart .

Id be interested in hearing how they remix it on the single. It has potential in various manners.

If they threw some variation of Lacrymosa (kind of how they threw Haunted on the My Immortal single) on a single with Lithium, it could be quite a decent single overall.
