The Messianic Age/reign: AKA The Kingdom of God

Question: After reviewing the following passages - are your thoughts that of the kingdom of God being just in our hearts? YES, I KNOW that the kingdom of God is within us (meaning the down payment that our Lord Jesus paid on the cross for us) However, in Revelation it states that Jesus will take his throne when he comes again.

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. AND

Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

“THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL BE REVEALED”

The following passages of Scripture have an illuminating comment in the Jewish Targums (commentaries), showing that the Kingdom of God was expected as a divine intervention at the end of the age. The comments throw light on Jesus’ Gospel of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14, 15, etc.).

Ex. 15:18: The Lord will reign forever and ever. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Isa. 24:23: The moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, His glory will be before His elders. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Isa. 31:4: So will the Lord of Hosts come down to wage war on Mount Zion and on its hill. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Isa. 40:9: Get yourself up on a high mountain, bearer of Good News to Zion. Lift up your voice mightily, bearer of Good News to Jerusalem. Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah: Here is your God. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Isa. 52:7: How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings Good News, who announces peace and brings Good News of happiness, who announces salvation, and says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” (The Kingdom of God is revealed.)

Ezek. 7:7, 10: Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The time has come. The day is near.... [cp. Mark 1:14, 15]. (The Kingdom of God is revealed.)

Obad. 21: The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion to administer the mountain of Esau, and the Kingdom will be the Lord’s. T(he Kingdom of God will be revealed over all those who dwell in the land.)

Micah 4:7, 8: I will make the lame a remnant, and the outcasts a strong nation. And the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion from now on and forever. As for you, tower of the flock, Hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come, even the dominion of the daughter of Jerusalem. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Zech. 14:9: And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one. (The Kingdom of God will be revealed.)

Again, this is a thread more at home in one of the all Christian forums on here. You're not going to get many of the non-Christian people with any opinion at all on this. :) End times and prophecy, bible study, or perhaps even one of the *ology forums will work better to get you a more active response.

I notice you're a little new, CHRISTgospel. Welcome to the site! I love your questions and I'm not trying to be pednatic, just I feel you will get better response to questions of this tyype among fellow Christians for whom they have more meaning.

but I can't Shane...... one of the forum rules..... I am not considered a Christian because I do not believe in the Trinity doctrine of man....

so I have to respect the wishes of LouisBooth and of course the board members (which I am okay with - hurt, yes - but again I can accept their wishes).....unless of course I get permission to post there...then I will.

christgospel, might I ask if you are a Christian?

Also, if you are, might I ask what denomination?

It helps members of the Body of Christ understand your doctrinal position on key issues regarding those that profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

ROM 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Hi Gunny, yes, I am very much a Christian.... do take a look at some of the songs the Lord has given to me. Click on my handle above and take a look for my posts for my songs. Yes, ROM 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

I was raised southern baptist, many years a Presbyterian.....went back to southern baptist where I was the children's choir director....but I started questioning the doctrine of the "fly away doctrine of man" you may know the one...Left Behind Series propaganda.... pretrib... the preacher was not comfortable me asking him questions and said "Sondra, if you do not adhere to the doctrine we are teaching then please find another church."

2 1/2 years I studied the Bible on my own with the Holy Spirits help. Strong's Concordance...bible dictionaries and the like.... I was hungry for the word of God Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
KJV
....most churches today preach to itching ears...feel good messages....the southern baptist church I was a member of had book clubs on how to grow membership.... I fell right in to this "movement" wouldn't it be wonderful if there were biblestudy clubs that really discussed the Holy Writ as the Bereans of Acts 17:11?

I finally found a church that believes as I do..... 2nd Advent Unity.... they do not believe in the trinity doctrine of man....nor pretrib secret rapture.....they teach/preach straight from the ole King James though I am not opposed to other versions - I use all bibles for research papers and they preach the gospel of Jesus...the kingdom message....the message that Christ was sent to preach to other cities by God his Father....the coming Messianic reign here on earth. Jesus the Christ made it possible (dying on the cross shedding his blood for our sins) to make way for us to enter into this kingdom....yet, one never hears the kingdom message preached..... many just preach grace and salvation - that Jesus came to die for our sins....that is halftruths...yes Jesus died for our sins but preach the whole gospel.

Sondra's Belief Statement

There is but one God and one Lord Jesus the Messiah...our mediator and saviour.

Jesus the Messiah came to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God

Jesus died for our sins and rose again and ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God Almighty - He will come again

Jesus is the only begotten son of God....Peter said it well....pondering why Peter did not say "You are God"

Scripture tells us that God is not a man nor is he the Son of man...... Jesus was a full fledged man. Jesus is not God.

I just do not believe in the trinity doctrine of man. Are you aware that John Calvin had burned those that opposed the trinity doctrine? I pasted that somewhere in one of my posts if it has not been deleted.

Yes, Gerry.

When I found that verse among others - I said wow. I have been believing in more that one God.

Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Ginny: I haven't looked at the doctrine of the 7th Day Adventist.... The one thing I do know about them is that they adhere to worshipping on Saturday (I believe that is what they do)
