The consolidation loan that we have been trying to get for over a year has finally been approved. It has taken countless applications to different banks and no-one was going to approve it.

But finally found out less than 1/2 hour ago that we got it. It's going to save us at least $500 a month so we might just have a bit more room to breathe.

What was funny is that they didn't approve it at first even though R's income was in the right amount, he had to complain and kick up a stink about it, and send in last year's tax return statement etc.

I am so excited now, it's made my day really.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks - wow this thread is over 2 months old.
yeah, we've just refinanced the car, so now can afford our sons private school fees a little more comfortably.

I guess if you do as God says to do, then it all comes together in the end.

Also just praying now we can get a home loan sometime in the next 2 years, because R said no home - no baby (so yeah until we buy a house no more babies for us ROFL)

I love looking at old threads too!

Neenie1 when you get around to getting the house loan, I know a really great person who helped us so much when we refinanced our mortgage. The first mortgage cost us thousands in legal fees, the second one was well under a thousand. And so quick! it was all finalised and the money in our account in under a month I think, the other one took them 6 months.

So PM me and I will find out the details for you again. Good luck!

Thanks for that. We're nowhere near it yet.

But when we do get there, we will probably go through one of those self-employed business type loans that you can get. Sort of like the RAMS loans. We already spoke to someone about those and once we pay off a few debts etc. we might be able to get one like that.

Cool, we went through eChoice, ended up with an ING loan, I have a savings account with them and they have been fantastic. The first time we went through Mortgage Choice, I think it was called, no where near as good.

Its a hard thing. We are very fortunate though, we have a lot of assets and both have good jobs (now) and the banks bend over backwards to give us money. Then its hard to make sure we are getting a good deal.

You would probably really regret it if you never had kids and had a house. Not that people should have to choose between them.

I would trade our houses to have a child and good health. I would never have thought that I would have said that. There is far more important things in the world, a good husband, children, good health.
