For those of you who don't know,
Neverwinter Nights 2 (NWN2) is a computer role-playing game currently in development by Obsidian Entertainment and to be published in October 2006 by Atari. It is the sequel to BioWare's Neverwinter Nights (NWN), a successful game based on the Dungeons & Dragons system. Where NWN was based on the Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition rules, NWN2 will be based on Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 (also known as the Revised 3rd Edition), somewhat changed to adapt to real-time gameplay.

Waiting for Bioshock myself though.
Yes, please! Randian-dystopian world? Highly-advanced, interdependant AI? First-person action combined with a cerebral atmosphere and story? I can't wait.

Oh, and NWN 2 too. I'll have to play a Nine at some point, I'm sure.

I probably won't be buying it until I upgrade my computer (next spring), but I've been looking forward to it for about a year now. I'm a little disappointed that the level cap is at 20, but at the same time msot of my super-high level characters (35+) are really too good to make a game challenging. Still, it's a ton of fun to watch an enemy explode into a hail of blood and bones after one hit.

I've played Neverwinter Nights to death. I've played through most of the really good player made modules, as well as all the expansions. The graphics have always bothered me, as they look very dated. I've always preferred good 2D graphics to poorly done 3D graphics... I think the graphics in Icewind Dale 2 are much better than the graphics in Neverwinter Nights, for example. Plus, Neverwinter Nights 2 is gonna be D&D 3.5 based, which should improve gameplay. Is the level cap really going to be level 20, though? That's a shame, as epic level characters really add a lot of functionality and fun. I bet they increase the cap to 40 and maybe beyond in expansions to NWN2, however.

NWN with the expansions takes the level cap up to 40.

The OP states that the release date is September 19th. This is incorrect. My friend on the dev team pointed out to me today that the release date has been changed to October 17th.

Expansion-wise, ideas are apparently being thrown about the office, but nothing concrete is planned yet. The inevitable expansion packs will come, I'm sure, and with them a likely increase in the level cap.

I think it has been pushed back AGAIN. I saw Oct 31. I pre-ordered mine and got an code to get the toolkit, but THAT is not available yet either

I guess I do not care that they keep pushing the game back. I just want the game to be stable and not needing patch after patch to make it run.

I'm looking forward to it too....

um... lil question... if i had a computer that I could leave up and running with a fixed IP that I could use to host a game, would anyone be interested?

I'd need a couple of volunteers for DM for when i wasn't online of course.
