This is a question I heard on the radio.
If a homosexual doesn't act on his lust is he still sinning?
Can a gay person find Christ and still be gay?
I think if you follow the word this person is living the life Jesus would want.
Love the sinner, hate the sin.
Most men look at women they are not married to in a lustful way, this is a sin. (This is the sin, I have a problem with)
So why not gay persons?
If they sin no more, but are still homosexual are they going to hell?

God calls all of us to sexual purity. I don't believe that whether one is attracted to the opposite or same sex is the real issue. The issue is whether or not we choose to follow the Lord's commands in this regard. There is no sin in having homosexual tendencies. The sin is acting on our own desires that go against God's Word. As you said, when we lust after someone who is not our spouse, it is sin. I don't believe it is any different for a homosexual. We are all to guard our minds and not allow ourselves to entertain lustful and sinful thoughts.

I think people generally understand that simply by breathing a homosexual is probably sinning. Even in thier dreams at night, when they can't control them, they are having sinful thoughts. The best thing is for a homosexual to pretend they are straight. That way, while they can always know they are an abomination and that the very prescence of them in the universe fills God with disgust, they won't be hassled at church.

But maybe it would be possible to have a medication for homosexuals that would eliminate any sex drive whatsoever so that way they can live a less sin filled life.

As for hell, I really don't think God has the capacity for depravity that we humans do. (maybe I am just a little cynical after reading the Observer's article on the Palestinian woman who survived being burnt alive for having sex before marriage).

The thought is just as much sin as the deed. The physical consequences are different, but they are both still sin.

I agree.. Therefore, one should be honest with themselves and live out their desires. Whats the difference? The married chap lives in sin just as much as the gay chap. right? sin is sooooo silly isn't it? :D

No, the correct comparison would be a gay person and a person having sex before marriage, both are sin and both are desires you can put away. :)

I can’t decide which is more horrific, the fact that you said that or the possibility that you actually think drugging gay people to destroy their sexuality is a good idea. May you never hold a political office or any other significant position of authority.

No it is not a sin to have homosexual desires. It isn't a sin to have sexual desires. Everyone does. The sin comes from acting on those desires in an inappropriate manner. Thoughts becomes sinful when we dwell on them and take delight in them. Find me someone who has no sexual thoughts and I'll show you a dead man. Banish such thoughts quickly, and you will avoid sin.

I seriously hope you are being sarcastic, especially about your first sentence.

Any way, is a homosexual sinning if he is not engaging homosexual sex? I don't believe so. We all have lustful thoughts, but so long as we allow our faith to guide as and do not engage in these acts then we are not sinning.

Hey an idea make gay marriages legal so its no longer a sin! they are then offically ur spouse and ur nto having sex out of wedlock problem solved! I start to wonder about god and how he isn't a good engineer! Why make somethign that has the ability to do all this sort of thing and then say no u can't and acts shocked when u do it....pretty bad design...also makign us humans different and then expectign us to agree on something even bigger then pizza toppings....how can he possibly believe that would work? Now seriosuly u make a computer system with that many problems and u woudl be out of a job! And then the few peopel who deicde ham and pineapple is the true flavour get saved from any bad thing they do?

God made us like this and he also made us be able to have these sort of feelings so it woudl almost be against god not to be gay if thats what u really are cause then ur lying and thats a sin and ur not usign what god gave u, god will be mad.

I'm sorry for the ranting but I'm between lectures and some comments made here have fired me up past my boredom and thats a dangerous mix!

What God are you talking about here? Since is digust is an emotion born of hatred I don't think its appropriate for a God that preaches love, do you?
