Christians! You are being WATCHED!!!

In my perusing of the forums, I am surprised at what I see sometimes. Now, I am not perfect myself. I have in the past said and done things which were not pleasing to God, even in these forums. Not to use the fact that I am in the flesh as an excuse, but because I am on earth, I am still vulnerable to Satan and his dark armies.

Always keep in mind that there are plenty of non-Christians as well as new Christians surfing this website.

Non-Christians will use the excuse of the fact that there is hypocrisy among Christians in order to avoid having to pursue Christ. It is not a good argument against Christianity, but being human, they use it. DON'T GIVE THEM AN EXCUSE!

As far as new Christians go, if you're not setting a Christ-like example for them, they may think that the things you do are acceptable to God, and imitate it themselves. Remember, they are just babes in Christ (1Peter 2:1-3). They may not know any better, and they are looking to "seasoned" Christians for guidance for how to walk with the Lord!

Mark 9:41-42
41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
42 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.

Mark 10:14-15
14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."

If you are a Christian, ACT LIKE IT! Here and in real life!

Mark 9:35
35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."

As Jesus would say (Mt 16:23)... "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." Of course I'm not calling myself Jesus, or making myself a god, but always question your own motives.

1 Timothy 5:20
20 Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.

1 Timothy 4:2
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

1 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

How true. Also, a good verse over judgment:

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
6"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. -Mathew 7:1-6

Basically what this says i judge with good sense, honesty and Godliness. A common used of non-believers is that this means not to judge, but it is not.

Remember, use God and the Bible as your final authority.

Just a little conviction for everyone.

Do not avoid and discount the message by bringing up past mistakes. Thanks.

:sigh:

Ah! A little over-sensitvity to avoid the issue.

Whenever God puts a conviction in your heart, it is for you, not for everyone else. God can and does convict people by himself, without using humans to finger-point or make grand announcements. The Spirit speaks to each person separately about their character issues, and works with each heart directly.

In other words, God put this in your heart for your use, not for us. He convicts us of things that we don't lay on you, so please don't lay your convictions on us.

Are you calling me satan, then? Nice. Time for you to take your own advice! Sheesh! Talk about not being a Christ-like example!

AMEN!!!!! Even in the church, and "Christian" places/websites, or "Christian" whatever, there are so many people who are swayed easily by bad examples, or things. The bottom line that I have been finding out of late is that, we can never lower our guard!!!! We always need to be trying to glorify god, we always need to keep our thoughts pure, we always need to be a good example, you get the idea?:) Plus, even when you may think thatr nobody's watching, guess who is? God is.

Oh and about judging others, something I think that we all need to be reminded of is that we are hardly any better than anyone else is. Sure we may seem "better" in certain, areas than others (even in comparision to non-christians), but we all had bad areas, ya know what I mean? Also, Something I think we need to do is don't judge people, even in our own heads. GBod still hears it

lambslove, calm down. I'm a woman. Is there a difference between me and the same thing spoken by a man?

Was Jesus calling Peter Satan? I'm afraid you're conveniently missing the point.

What a shame. I thought that people might be able to reflect a little bit by reading this thread. The negativity seems pretty isolated, so I'm still pretty happy with it.

Hmm...after my last post, I do feel like a bit of a hypocrite. I can't believe I'm undermining my own argument!! Can we make up ? Let's agree to disagree and do it sincerely. Remember, as I said before, we are being watched! I really don't like feeling resentful towards anyone. Takes too much energy that could be used for better things!

Yup, I think that Psycmajor is right on the money with this one. It looks real bad to non-Christians when they read threads where we are nipping at each other's feet. Too many times people forget that any correcting that it to be done should be done IN LOVE. :)

Also do keep in mind that if you see something questionable or offensive it would be best to notify the moderators. That's what they're here to do--moderate. There's a little "report" link that you can click to report specific posts. If you are concerned about a particular person's attitude or something, PM a forum moderator, or contact the person yourself if you're not clear about something.

I think our moderators are doing a fine job, by the way!

I know that I can't be as loving and compassionate as God is; after all He is God and did die for us, but I will try to be kinder and not as quick to talk back to others. I am sure that I, as well as all Christians, need to work on that a little. We are human, so we will make mistakes, and possibly lash out at someone; but we must try to apologize and make up with the person(s) that we hurt and to forgive people that hurt us. We have to show the unbelievers that God is amazing, and that He is strong enough and caring enough to change us into kinder, more gentler people.

Good attitude A Sheep! And do not be hurt or offended when some people reject not only your apology but you as well. We are responsible only for our own attitude and if we stay on the High Road and stay focused on Jesus, we will do well in the end!

God help us all to serve Him through our service to one another!
