Perhaps it isn't exactly evolution, but it contains evolutionary theory at its core.

And so you just ignore reams of evidence in support of common descent. You have yet to respond to the ERV evidence, for example, with anything but blind disbelief. Got anything more substantial?

I never said that it was, though what I want to know is how you can say that evolution and genetics have nothing in common. Also, still waiting for you to list any practical applications for the gap theory.

Also, what are your classifications in genetics?

Would it surprise you to hear that Mendel probably fudged on his figures? That no one repeating his experiments with peas get nearly the perfect results that he did?

That he just by chance picked a set of physical characteristics that independently assort?

There is far more to the Mendel saga than meets the eye.

So tell me John, what practical applications does the gap-theory has again?

So there we have it people. Without the theory of evolution disease research into many fields would be not really possible. Genetics really is based largly on the theory of evolution, and the Gap theory has no practical applications, other then being annoying at best.

Practical applications. As in using the Gap-theory for a particular usefull purpose. What you are describing is an idea at best.

In this example the Bible tells us where there is ruin there is going to be darkness. This is most often caused by volcanos, but there could be other causes. A meteor for example, or the situation with the twin towers.

So how is a vague out of context pulled quote got anything to do with science? there isn't any mention of dust, there isn't any mention of darkness, and your own extrapolartions are only strung together by a vague line of thought.

So the theory would predict that when you study mass extinctions look for dust, smoke, ash and so forth. Or even poison or gas. Because a volcanic erruption can cause all of this and the effect may appear up to 10,000 miles way from the volcano.

You should really listen to yourself. You're jumping from one end of the spectrum to the other side. " The gap theory says that mass extinctions have the charasterisics of dust, smoke, ash, gas, poison, metors, volcanoes, water, this, that" Why not list every household object as well?

a) has any practical use whatsoever.
b) how this is even a theory.

Look what you are describing here at best are charasterics that are related to certain events. It's only logical that volcanoes spew forth a lot of gasses, it's only logical that meteors kick up a lot of dust, it's only logical that when a certain object is between you and a lightsource it will block out the light for you. How is this a theory? Fellow EACS might explain it better to me, but I am just not seeing it.
