Heh go for it hun! My uncle did a degree in maths (he didnt even like the subject) but all his teachers used to tell him he was rubbish at it. But well...he proved them wrong. :) And got a first through hard work.
I wish my results were as good as some people's are now. I can just sound all old, jealous and cynical instead and say 'grrr a levels are getting easier than they used to be' :p I got ABB in my a levels 3 years ago, and was just an average, A, B C person in GCSE.

that sounds cool. well so a-level or OU math i'll see on circumstance (there is no local a-level math course).

in 1997 i got Bs, Cs a D and 2 Es. My "a-levels" were equivilant to 2 Es. :) :p

Of course no-one knew i was dyslexic so therefore no help.

I cannot help but admire all these A, B and C grades at a-level :)

Good luck in your A-levels! I really admire people who choose subjects because it's a challenge to them and because they enjoy it, and not because they believe some subjects will be easier. I'd never have been brave enough to choose maths myself, but then, I always was pretty terrible at maths and science!

i love science, im just so bad at math. thanks :) well a-level or OU but first ive got to try pass the current degree im on *rolleyes* if i passed the resits.

Oooh I'm a bit late coming in... But yeah I went through that whole result wait...with one icky addition - we were in Northern Ireland when they came out, over here they come out on the Thursday, I got them posted over so got them on the Friday...so bad enough I had to wait one day extra than my friends. BUT over there they got them the Tuesday (2days before) & my cousin was getting hers...least to say when I heard her amazing results my nerve factor went right up! Oh & I kept my phone off thurs-fri until I got my results :p

Phew...long winded...anyway, my results = 2A*s,6As,4Bs & 1C (I didn't have the confidence to do Welsh (short-course) higher tier so instead did foundation, thus meaning C was the highest I could get, so I'm happy!).

Aww well done they're amazing!!

Lol, yeah I always used to turn my mob off too. I wouldn't even travel there with my friends, I never wanted to speak to anyone until I had my results...and then I wanted to tell people in my own time if they were bad...which luckily they weren't, but yeah results day is a pretty nerve racking moment for me, I can never sleep well the night before! :p xx

Well done to everyone :)

I hope those of you who have just had your GCSE results will be doing Chemistry at AS. :)

(I'm a Chemistry teacher starting AS for the first time this week).

Nope :p I'm doing biology though.

Well done to everyone else...some brilliant results going on there!!

AS exams are what you do in the 12th year of school (sixth form). If you continue these subjects into the 13th year (upper sixth form), you take A2 level exams.

So, say I do Maths and Biology, and drop maths after year 12, but carry Biology into year 13. I would have an AS in Maths and an A level in Biology.

Basically, an A level is AS and A2 combined, whereas an AS stands for "Advanced Subsiduary". ^__^

I got an A in chemistry, B in Biology and a B in geography. Not enough to get into my original first choice of medicine at manchester, but no bother because I have been accepted for physiotherapy at Cardiff uni which was one of my original first choices anyway.

I know a couple of people going to Cardiff. Good luck, hope you enjoy yourself there! I managed to get rejected from three universities, which left me with quite a limited choice at the end. I'm now very sick of UCAS and the entire system. Glad it's over now :)
