Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided

ohhh i soooooooooooooooooooooo want that game. but my parents wont spend $15 a month on it for me.

As I posted in the computer forum before this forum was created...there is a Christian PA on Radiant that is now about 50 strong. Yes about 50 Christians playing SWG at various times of the day...but only 3 of us are females

im 15. i would loooove to get a job. but i cant. no place will hire at 15 around here. i have to be 16.

i would get it, but my PC for one, isnt fast enough, two, i dont like spending more money to play it three, NOTHING INTERFERES WITH MY AIM INSTANT MESSAGING! everquest did...never again

even though star wars rules and ive played almost every star wars game imaginable

$15 a month, wow... that's a chunk of change... I just got this game for Christmas, and I'm debating on whether to keep it. I've never tried a MMORPG. Is this game worth it? Also, the computer I use connects at 28.8Kbps, on the average. Will this bog me down? Thanks.

At that connection speed you may find the game annoying. Additionally, SWG is not worth 15$ a month imho. If you were ever interested in trying a mmorpg, my advise would be to wait for World of Warcraft, by Blizzard. Hopefully their monthly fee will not be so exorbitant.

Well, Im quitting that game at the moment...I've played it since it started.

Kinda trying to get rid of the whole MMORPG scene atm...some kind of personal commitment.

I did manage to amass a small fortune in that game and if someone wants it...they're welcome to it. Just pm, email me, or something.

Considering these types of games are "ever changing" and new content is added fairly regularly, 15 dollars a month is worth it. You have to figure in that the developers have to pay for bandwith and added server costs as well as continual development time. That's why there's a monthly fee. In the case of Start Wars Galaxies, the Space Expansion is coming out this Fall/Winter which will add space exploration/combat to an already vast game.

Many people are willing to pay monthly for a game that continues to provide worthwhile entertainment. Realistically, you pay more to go see a movie, which provides only a few hours of entertainment, than you pay for a month of play in an MMORPG.

Games like UT2k4 or CS are free, and fun of course, but they have no where near the amount of persistent content that MMORPG's provide and continue to provide.

Whew! I'm playing Final Fantasy XI right now and at $13 a month the additional $15 would be killer lol. I'm planning to join up though as soon as these two will cost just $20 a month but that's wishful thinking! XD

I played SWG for about 10 months, my honest reccomendation is do not get it. The game is still mostly horridly broken, especially if you like PvP.

$15 a month is not much at all. Especially considering for my girlfriend and I to go see a movie it costs $20.

I agreed with ForeRunner. This game isn't worth it. I play since to come out a year ago. Combat and most other parts been broken since it came out. The development team have been proming fixs for over 6-8 months, then delays them, to work things the get new players and money. Like Jedi, which should not even be ingame, b/c for the time it set in and an expansion, Jump to Lightspeed. I wouldn't recomend a game, where the devs think it more importation to work an expansion pack, when they should fix the main game frirst.

I'll be waiting for the MMO, Trials of Ascension, to come out. It looks like a great MMORPG.
