Jehovah-jireh, "the Lord will provide"

Jehovah-Shalom, "the Lord our peace," or "the Lord send peace"

Jehovah-rapha, "the Lord that healeth"

Jehovah-tsidkenu, "the Lord our righteousness"

Jehovah-shammah, "the Lord is present"

Jehovah-nissi, "the Lord our banner"

Jehovah-mekaddishkem, "the Lord who sanctifies"

When you look at those lists how is it possible for a Christian to view God as anything other than their healer, their provider, their protector and their peace.

So why would we use the term "if it be your will?" in prayer.

I have heard people say that the phrase above equates to "Thy will be done." I disagree. The difference if we pray for healing and qualify it with "if it be your will?" we are questioning whether the nature of God is that He is our healer or whatever. If we pray "Thy will be done" we recognize the Sovereignty of God in all things but we can pray that believing that He is our Healer and come by faith believing.

Lately someone posted that God causes people to be sick?????? That would surely go right against the very nature of Jehovah Rapha. Would the God that heals cause someone to be sick?

What do you believe we can learn about God's character from His names?

If you question whether God wants to heal you what do you see in the names of God?

Thats true Irene. Why would God say his name was provider, or healer, or righteousness, or shepherd if he was not ready, willing and able to do these things?

My Savior and My Lord

Jesus is: My Savior and My Lord.

2 Peter 1:11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

What did Peter say?
Mark 8:29 "But what about you?" Jesus asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ. "

What did Jesus say about Himself?
John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."

John 8:12 [ The Validity of Jesus' Testimony ] When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 10:7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep."

John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture."

John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."

John 13:13 "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am."

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 15:1 [ The Vine and the Branches ] "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener."

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
