Not that two wrongs make a right, but this is coming from the same person who said 1)I wasn't a Christian, 2)I was an idiot, 3)I was a horrible medical professional for my unequivocal views on abortion.

And then people wonder why some of us reach the breaking point?

OK guys...

We all need to take step back here. We've degenerated into mudslinging here, especially between Catholics.

I understand NYJ unflinching devotion to the Churches teachings, I understand VOW's compassion for others and I even understand Antie's point of view on the topic, but we must respect each others position.

Even if we do not agree exactly with each other...there has to be respect for each person here as children of God. We are to correct each other lovingly and we need to adhere to the churches teachings, no matter how black and white they may seem, they are the last bastion of morality. Uncompromising to our selfish human desires, but compassionate in its teachings, the church is lead by Christ and thus the beliefs are Christ-centered. We must trust in her.

Let's all pull back here a bit and take time for prayer and reflection.

He will pay for his crime in eternity if he continues along this path.  Of course he should be apprehended and imprisoned to be prevented from doing it again, but it is not up to us to judge who deserves to live and to die, that's God's department.  We should pray for people like this that they may repent, and maybe they can do some good in the world.  All things are possible with God, and even the heart of the most hardened criminal can be touched by his mercy and justice.  Would the girl who died want to see him burn in Hell for all eternity?  I doubt it.  It would be my guess she has more pity for him than malice right now.  This man is not the enemy right now.  Satan is, and we need to do all in our power to prevent him from gaining more souls than he has already deceived and destroyed.

Let's pray he is apprehended before he can continue along this path.
Of course he should be apprehended and imprisoned to be prevented from doing it again, but it is not up to us to judge who deserves to live and to die, that's God's department.
Right now I am judging. As a mother who lives in the area of that monster, I am judging. As someone who just recently started permitting her child to ride her bike in front of the house without me hovering over her, I am judging with a vengeance.
We should pray for people like this that they may repent, and maybe they can do some good in the world. All things are possible with God, and even the heart of the most hardened criminal can be touched by his mercy and justice.
Right now I am NOT praying for him. I'm incapable of that. I am praying for the child and her family. Once he's locked up behind bars for the rest of his life, I hope he is touched by God's mercy. But right now I just want him caught.
This man is not the enemy right now
He is my enemy.

Pax, I admire and respect you. You are a special young man. And you are right it is not up to us to decide who should live or die. That is why GOD already did it for us. God is the one who established the death penalty and layed out the rules as to who should die, and for what crimes, and the method of execution.

Man is the one who changed all the rules, and whys, and wherefores.

Annabel, as a mother of a child, I would hope you would want this criminal caught and prevented from hurting anyone else, and for considering him and enemy. And you have said after he is put away, you wish for him to be touched by God's mercy.

Hmmmm!!! Well if there is something wrong with your thinking here I hope someone enlightens me. Sounds like a good job of parenting to me. Sorry!
