It is certainly the rairest thing I have seen .

I am considering getting the works of Thomas Goodwin (12 vols) but the import tax is such a pain , I have some of his works ...

I think if you have ;

John Owen (16 vols) http://www.monergismbooks.com/worksowen16v.html

Thomas Goodwin (12 Vols) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Works-of-Thomas-Goodwin-12-Vols-Hardcover_W0QQitemZ110021655459QQihZ001QQcategoryZ378QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and
Thomas Manton (22 vols) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Complete-Works-of-Thomas-Manton-22-Vols-hrdcvr_W0QQitemZ110021656028QQihZ001QQcategoryZ378QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Awesome! It's hard to believe that they're just giving it away for such a small price. I would think that they'd keep it in a museum. Oh well...maybe we can each put a hundred thousand dollars into a pool, and collectively buy it. ^_^

Well, I agree thats an awesome site!

Also I was amazed at the list of Owen's works! I had no idea he was such a prolific writer! Wow! I have perhaps 3 or 4 of them; The Mortification of Sin, Communion with God, and The Death of Death(new and awaiting the challenge yet) But that is a phenomenal amount of writing by him for sure!

You may already know about this one bro - but check it out if not: http://www.tollelegepress.com/gb/geneva.php

Don't know about you all - but I plan on getting one...

COOL BRO!!

I am something of a collecter of Reformed books and old Bibles . I have a few facsimilies as well.
I have an original Geneva Bible 1599 in good condition and a Geneva NT facsimile.
I also have a KJV 1613/14 in good condition , and a 1611 facsimile.

I have managed to get hold of two different Tyndale NT facsimilies and a Wycliffe NT (numbered ltd ed) facsimile .

It would be great to have the 6 facsimilies in the set on offer from http://www.greatsite.com/ancient-rare-bibles-books/platinum.html

and if I didn't get stung for import taxes I would order the set.

btw , for anyone interested the works I quoted of John Owen , Thomas Goodwin and Thomas Manton I have given the web address for the cheapest price I could find for each set. (These also should be available on cdrom for those on a really tight budget)

If you get the chance consider the 6 vol Matthew Henry commentry and the Matthew Poole 3 vol set.

You will also benefit from John Gill , 9 vol set
and the NT commentry by John Trapp (the full set 6 vols needs republishing)

Now back to that small matter of a loan ....... :D

I got Owens' works on CDROM because of my limited budget and shelf space. I also have CDROM versions of Schaff's History of the Christian Church and that monstrous set of the church father's writings you always see in CBD catalogues.

It was because of all these things that I have come to realize something important...I can't read this kind of stuff on a monitor!! I don't know what it is, but it seems so much more like work to get through anything. It's harder to browse around, too. And I can't take them to town to kill a few minutes in the chiropractor's waiting room.

I just got real book versions of Schaff's History (all eight volumes) and Owen's The Death of Death in the Death of Christ. Ahhhhhhhh........:D

I sent the link to my pastor - I'm thinking he might want to give it to his favorite church secretary (that's me:thumbsup:). I'm sure he'll want to do so because he knows I'd share.

1560 Geneva Bible: First Edition

The First Edition of the English Geneva Bible, also known as the “Breeches” Bible, and the “Bible of the Protestant Reformation”. The Geneva was the first Bible with numbered verses, and the Bible first taken to America. Quoted from hundreds of times by Shakespeare, this Bible of the Puritans & Pilgrims remained the Bible of choice for decades AFTER the King James was published. There are fewer than 50 complete 1560 First Edition Geneva Bibles known to exist.

My pastor was hoping for the Greek NT by Erasmus:thumbsup:
