Oh, i assumed you were because you said you mark year 12 assignments, and were reading BNW (which is a designated HSC 2U adv text) - my mistake.

:amen:

No it's totally my fault. I assumed that you read my earlier post (the second one in the thread) where I said I was reading all those books for pleasure. I teach Science, not English.

I hope that you enjoy them all anyway!

What am I reading?

So far I am working on reading through the Psalms. i like to read one a day. If it's a nice one, I read it aloud to the kids before they go to bed.

I also am reading Brian Jacques Redwall series. My husband got me hooked on those. It is fantasy stuff (or so he says) I didnt' think I would like it, but I read one of them just to keep him quiet (lol) and loved it. So I am reading the others. I probably get through it a bit slower than some people would (or what I would have got through it before I had children) but I am getting through them slowly.
the redwall series are really neat I enjoyed them heaps Im not sure that I'd call them fantasy though

I just read The DaVinci Code which I have put off for ages, because we're doing a thing on it with church members this week. I won't recommend it. It was the dodgiest cliched storyline I've ever come across. When a book starts with an albino murdering someone, well.... enough said... I certainly won't be reading anymore Dan Brown if that was meant to be good!!!

Now reading a book by Greg Clarke about the DaVinci code. I was pleased to see he felt the same as I do when I read his first paragraph. Hopefully though it will be a good discussion on Friday.

I have to read, or started, Desiring God, by John Piper, a book on Hudson Taylor and Maria that is a biography, a book on missionary work in China.

I enjoy for fun reading fantasy novels, autobiographies and the classics (Jane Austen, etc... not so much Dickins though). Am waiting for the next Robin Hobb fantasy book to be released. That reminds me to go and check and see if it has been. I really like her books, and am glad for some new characters, storylines in her new trilogy.

At the moment Im reading any crime fiction stories I can get my hands on (For Extension English)...

I just finished 3 Agatha Christies, Murders in the Rue Morgue (Edgar Allen Poe) and Im keen to start Coma (Robin Cook)... When Im not reading for school however, Im a bit of a fantasy/Sci Fi fan- It required alot of self control for me to put down Prelude to Dune: the battle of Corin (Brian Herbet and Kevin J Anderson)... I also had to put down 'Know and Tell the Gospel' (John Chapman) a while ago, which again required alot of self control-- I can't wait until the HSC is over- I can finally finish these books!

ChrisHave you tryed reading Ngaio Marsh

this thread ;-) Hey y'all how is everyone in Ozie forum land?

Um, I am reading a book called Experiencing Revival, awesome stuff by the late Charles Finney...

Hey you!! :D Where have you been? :p

In terms of my reading material, it's a mix between various bits of council regulations, a series of CSR Technical Manuals for some of their building products and a technical manual from www.greenhouse.gov.au for a uni project I'm doing. No time for casual reading at the immediate moment for me...

Hey Kris, how are you? Wow... I am not connected to Interned right now, so that's why you haven't seen me round these parts... not to mention the fact this eats so much time and it's not time I seem to have these days :( however we'll see how it goes... o and that time issue? A ring might have something to do with it ;)
