John316 "Once you move from adolescence to adulthood, I have found things to improve and settle down."
Question, (and i'm not doubting your statement
smile.gif
) would the *improvement* have to do with hormones or your *growing* relationship with God? I personally did not find *purity* easy through portions of high school, but i would point at my realtionship with God (or lack thereof
biggrin.gif
) and i can say the same things through College and career... Daniel 11:32 says that those people who *know* their God will be strong... implying to me that at a time when i don't *know* my God as well as i could, things will not be *settled down*. Do you see where i am coming from?
Cherubim: i believe God respects and appreciates your strength, it is never *easy* to go God's way, but the fact that you can and will is a wonderful testimony!!!
Matt777: that is an intensely visual scripture to bring to remembrance...
In Christ!

Tyrone: "i'm interested in what you say about how you handle it with this ring as a reminder each day of your commitment with GOd....please go on."
i do hope you don't think i was ignoring your statement... i've been pondering it a bit that is all. have a seat, this may appear long winded
biggrin.gif
(if your not already sitting down...
When i was married recently, i went before God and declared my intentions (all good
smile.gif
) for Renee (The lucky lady
smile.gif
), i also made these declarations publicly at our wedding ceremony...
in 1995 i made a commitment to my Lord and Savior to be drug free and morally pure until the day i go on to be with the Lord, (at which time *all* negative temptation is gone, and it becomes a moot point
smile.gif
). I don't have any *issue* with Christians who have a drink, or even smoke, i don't judge these as i don't see it my place to judge those actions. For me, though, i wanted to make a stand: i like(d) cigars, and some liquors', but i also new i needed to be wary (for myself). After making a public declaration of my commitment to Christ for this decision (the drug free and morally pure bit
smile.gif
) i was awestruck as to how God was able to use it as a witnessing tool... it's been six years now, and without a REAL COMMITMENT to Christ i would have tossed it away, if it was just something i was trying, i would have tryed and decided against it (read: failed). Again, this may no be for everyone, but my realtionship with the Lord really spiked when i made that stand... The bible has a scripture where a statement of *no shadow of turning* is made to God, i want that to be my life) the ring is a constant reminder, when i'm with worldly friends and an element that i have committed to Christ comes around, i pass (thank you Lord for strength Phil 4:4)
without that ring i *think* that i would have weakened by now (at least once
frown.gif
) but i haven't... the ring serves me as a natural, fleshly reminder of the commitment that i've made to the Holy of Holies. Just like a wedding band!

Make sure you are the "Lord of The Ring" rather than the other way around!!!

hey Max...
great play on pop culture "lord of the ring"
biggrin.gif

no, the ring isn't Lord, it's merely a physical token i have... it's not a crutch, but an aide...
Truth he known, Lord of my Ring is Jesus Christ, (not an inanemate object

The thing to remember is this.
1 Pet 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
(KJV)

Satan and his minions never sleep and they know our weaknesses. If you slack off on your deffenses you alow the roaring lion in the house. Who you going to blame when that happens. You see Satan is always trying to make us an impotent whitness. How can you tell someone they need Christ when they are looking at you like you are such a hippocrite seeing how they seen you at that strip club the other night. See how that works. We have to walk a thin line in order to keep our whitness in power. The rewards are worth it.

"as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he MAY* devour"
that is a great point to raise! seeking whom he MAY devour, implying that he can NOT just devour anyone... the situation has to be right, our situation!
rkbo: "If you slack off on your deffenses you alow the roaring lion in the house. Who you going to blame when that happens."
key here i see is to stay sober and vigilant, with your eyes on God!!!

If satan throws his fiery darts there is only one way to quench them.
Eph 6:16
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(KJV)

The shield of faith is for our defense against the Wicked (one) but we should also go on the offensive with the sword of the spirit "the word of God" I think this means we should find the biggest Bible we can find and woop those stripper all over the stage and up against the wall......or not.

Hello! This is my first post. I got started on the forum because I was having a good time reading MarmaladePRO's posts....He's my husband! When I read the post where he told you of his committment in 1995 to be morally and sexually pure until he died, I had to join the forum and make a posting of my own! So my first post may be a lengthy one!
When MarmaladePRO made his committment to God to be pure, he inadvertantly made the committment to me, his wife, at the same time. Guys and girls, to give your heart, mind and body to God NOW, rewards your spouse and your children in your future. Because my husband came to me pure and I came to him pure through my own committments, we have honored God and He in return has blessed us with a worry free and trusting bond which has been a healthy foundation for our marriage. Give God everything now for a blessed future.
