If you look this scripture up at bible gateway using different versions you get an idea what the verse is saying. It really helps to look at verse 3 too.

For example: the NIV says:

4 Oh, for the days when I was in my prime,
when God's intimate friendship blessed my house,

and the New King James says:

4 Just as I was in the days of my prime,
When the friendly counsel of God was over my tent;

the more i looked the more it seems to be the blessing of his relationship, the closeness, the mystery of God

Hope that helps, Tapero

It simply means that Job is recalling and longing for the time when he perceived his life as having God's blessing upon it. If you read further on in the chapter you see he longs for the time when his children were with him and when all he did was blessed.

You have to remember too that Job is a book of poetry. It has to be read like poetic literature. Poetry sometimes uses fantastic language and phrases to emphasize its point. In this case Job is destitute and it seems he feels abandoned or at least no longer protected and blessed by God.
