Well, I've lived in the Houston area for a really long time. I know of places like Rice Village and such, but I was wondering if anyone had any favorite or cool spots to hang out in the Houston or surrounding areas. Maybe christian coffee houses, theatrical places or very nice restaurants... any place you frequent or would like to if you could? Thanks!!

I'm a (conservative) Christian and a 'naturist' (no, they aren't mutually exclusive) from just north of Houston...and I'd consider places where I could be naked "cool places" to hang out.

We don't have a Christian resort in Texas that I know of, but we do have a clothing optional beach and a few nudist resorts. While I'm on the topic, are there any Christian couples in the area interested in trying naturism? Skinny-dipping is our favorite! :)

There used to be a cool coffe e shop/bookstore called HiSword. They had great music and fellowship.Found out about it many moons ago when I went to Living Word ( in Spring).
As for Coffee houses, well I just settle for Starbucks. Cool places to hang out...Herman Park,Miller outdoor Theater, Minute Maid Park( I'm there 20+ times a year). The japanese gardens @ Heman are pretty cool.
Sadly, there aren't too many "fun" places on the North Side.Great resturaunts, though.Lots of them by the woodlands mall. Oh, the Woodlands Mall does have a nice carousel.

Hubby and I like to do Karaoke, and the best shows are run by Third Rock Karaoke. Some locations are: PJs on West Gray, Shamrock Inn on Gessner, R&R on Barker Cypress, lots of others which you can find on Google or looking around.

These are not specifically Christian events, but I wouldn't say they are un-Christian, either. Every body loves to hear a good, uplifting song. :)

There are so many things to do here in Houston because its so big. Like sioleabah said theres Kareoki all over the city. The best place iv found for it is Spotlight Kareoki becuase thats all thhey do there and on weekends they serve sushi which brings me to my next place. If you like sushi theres tons of places that serve it. For super reasonable prices go to Oishis on Richmond and Timmons but if you spend a little more the best atmoshphere is Ra which is on Westhimer and Weslayan. As for coffee shops they have the most variety of them on Westhimer right before you get to montrose and they also have tons of great realsale shops that have awesome clothes.Very nice resturants hmm where do I begin if you like italian Carrabbas is on Kirby and around the corner I believe on West Alabama is Pesce which is super nice and on that same street is Flemmings which is a steak house (the best steak you'll ever have)We also have a fondu spot called the Melting Pot which is on Westhimer outside of the loop (610) Lastly another place I would recommend is America's which is on Post Oak and finally for the best mexican food fajitas especially go to Lupe Tortillias which is off 59 N and uturn on Kirby. I could honestly go on and on . I still havent gotten to the thatrical places but I would suggest picking up a Houston Chronical at most corner stores and feel free to PM me for more info and if you want to even talk and ask the questions just PM me and let me know. I hope that helps.
