I just wanted some help in finding references to lions in the Bible. I know lions come up alittle but to be honest I havent read the Bible so I dont know how much they come up or even how to find them. So any help is much appreciated. Ive heard about the Daniel story but thats about it. So is there much more on lions in the Bible or anything about a larger lion in heaven?

Thanks.

Hi Kazahel,
I often use Bible searching tools on the Internet to find certain things that I am looking for. The one that I use most often is at Crosswalk. I went ahead and did a search and it pulled up several verses where 'Lion' is mentioned. Note, not all of them are referring to an actual lion but use the term symbolically. Good luck in your search.

It's amazing how many lion references there are! Are you doing a research, or just curious?
Just curious really.. Im just wondering things which are tricky to explain kinda and I was hoping the Bible might shed some light on lions and what they mean fully. Its just Ive had interesting dreams with the lion theme lately and Im trying to make sense of it all.

I hope you get more insights through that. I thought mb you'd heard the song "the Lion of Judah" and wondered why people sang it.

Some lion/beast dreams are just about overwhelming things we're facing in life...but it sounds like these are striking you as very unusual. I've found that most people know when they've had a dream that is supposed to mean something....prophetic, or containing a message...they just sense its importance.

I usually think back to any symbolisms I would recognize in my dreams... how I felt at each turn...and usually something hits me like of course--I've been afraid of the job interview. Then all the symbolisms roll into a logical sense.

Keep searching and praying about it...ask God to reveal meaning to you. If He wants you to find something, He will not hide it too deep.

Well to be honest it was this dream here..http://www.christianforums.com/t2451556-dreams-god.html&page=2 which I had back around christmas time. It was a very special dream for me but whats happened since is that in one of my last dreams I went semi lucid because I shapeshifted into a lion while I was running.

Ive been shapeshifting into a wolf on and off in lucid and non lucid dreams for over 10 years now but since that dream Ive now shifted into the lion. Its like changed my animal form when Im dreaming and running. I actually saw my tail and most of my body because I stopped and looked at myself for a few seconds, it was pretty cool.. I was only a small lion but still. Its also funny because over time my wolf went whiter before I dreamt of the lion, so to me it was like a change over.

Anyway so yeah.. Im most curious on lions and I was wondering what the Bible thought of them I guess.

Crazy huh.

I looked up lion symbolism --

Most dream dictionaries agree that a lion can symbolize a test of strength, a person with a large following, authority, power, or royalty, as well as being in control of your life and your emotions.
I thought these two were interesting because of the shapeshifting you described:

"Animals often represent your emotions...Keep in mind that in the Bible, a lion is used to represent both Christ ("the Lion of the tribe of Judah") and satan ("as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour"). Therefore, you must maintain your dependence upon the Holy Spirit to reveal what the animal represents in your specific dream.

"When you face the animal representing your emotions in your dream rather than running from it, you may find that the animal changes into a different one. It is good to face your emotions."

"Carl Jung said that all wild animals indicate latent affects (feelings and emotions that we do not readily deal with). They are also symbolic of dangers (hurtful and negative things) being "swallowed" by the unconscious. The lion is a symbol of social distinction and leadership. The interpretation depends on the circumstances and the interactions with the lion."

I never knew that Satan was like a lion too. Thats interesting hey, thanks for that. :)

I agree kinda with this but in my dreams ages ago I faced a wolf that had been hunting me and I killed it. Then after that I began to shapeshift into the wolf because to me I had earned it. I have faced some other black dogs(emotions?)after though, which I turned into sleeping puppies when I went to fight them. Which was nice.

"The interpretation depends on the circumstances and the interactions with the lion."

Thats the funny thing though hey because I am the lion now. Dont worry though I wasnt roaring hehe. I was too busy checking out my tail which was moving like crazy.

Anyway I learned something new today. Thanks! :)
