I thought it would be fun to start a picture thread of places in the Holy Land relevant to the NT!

Fishing boat on the Sea of Galilee:




"After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberius..." (John 6:1)

And when evening was now come, His disciples entered a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. For it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them...(John 6:16-17)

"And the Sea arose by reason of a great storm that blew..." (John 6:18)

"And the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now filling with water..." (Mark 4:37)

"And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" (Mark 4:39a)

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm...(Mark 4:39)

"This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled: ...Two women shall be at the millstone grinding, and one shall be taken and the other left..." (Matthew 24:34, 41)

"And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones who believe in Me, it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he were cast into the sea." (Mark 9:42)

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing...(John 1:28)

And after these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judaea and tarried there with them baptizing...(John 3:22)

"And immediately the Spirit took Him into the wilderness for forty days, tested by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts. And Angels ministered to Him." (Mark 1:12-13)

And the Devil, taking Him up into a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time...(Luke 4:5)

And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country of Judaea with haste, into a city of Judah, and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elizabeth. (Luke 1:39,40)

The Ampitheatre at Caesaria:

Nearby was found the inscription "Pontus Pilate: Governor" on a commemorative stone (shown below)

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple; that disciple was known to the high priest and went in with Jesus into the mansion of the high priest.
(John 18:15)

But Peter stood in the doorway outside, until the other disciple spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter into the inner courtyard. (John 18:16)

And the servants and officers had made a coalfire, for it was cold: And they warmed themselves, and Peter stood with them and warmed himself. (John 18:18)

The high priest then questioned Jesus about His disciples, and of His doctrine. (John 18:19)

And the Adversary brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him,
"If you are the Son of God cast yourself down from here;
for it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you',..." (Luke 4:9-10)

Simon Peter says to them, I'm going fishing. They said, "We'll go with you." (John 21:3)

And Jesus stood by on the shore...and He said to them,
"Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find!" (John 21:4-6)

And they took Him and crucified him.

The place was called Golgotha, "The Skull".

"Forgive them Father: They don't know what they are doing."
