I never saw the show but I did see the previews. Magic is another form of entertainment. I never saw it as witchcraft or something connecting to "religion" as kind of doctrinal beliefs as magic creed. But again, that's my PERSONAL opinion.

Blaine's a pretty doggone good magician who's ruining his career with stupid "who cares?" stunts.

Fake miracles and such aren't scripturally portrayed in a positive manner.

Witchcraft, communing with the dead, etc...are definitely not Godly actions. DB has indicated he has extra knowledge about people who have died. He has also made it appear that he killed an insect and then resurrected it.

I have seen most of DB's shows and from a secular standpoint he would have to be the most entertaining person, of his vocation, that I have seen.

From a Biblical standpoint I have warning lights go off in my head when I see some of his stuff. Like the two items I mentioned above.

Harry Potter criticizers bought and read the book The Passion of Christ criticizers did the same, The Da Vinci Code ditto, even those who criticize the RCC inundate them selves with hoardes of their opposers material in order that they may discern more.

I have heard and seen heresy and general ungodly behavior; at work, at play, from family, from the pulpit, from tv programs, on the computer, from newspapers, in motion pictures, in books, in magazines...virtually everywhere.... and let's not forgot...from my own hands and heart.

If you turn the channel, then what? Where are you gonna' go that no unGodliness will find you? Did Christ hide from unGodliness? Did Moses? Elijah?

Personally I will continue to see DB's performances if I get a chance.... because I want to know what the evil little ******* is up to now.

Just some thoughts.

Key word - FAKE.

He has also made it appear that he killed an insect and then resurrected it.

Gee whiz. So he had a chilled insect and the heat of his hand warmed it up. Not exactly an original trick.

Shame on you for calling him evil.

David Blaine is a master of prestidigitation, not actual spells. There is no actual magic conjured.

To be honest, if people are going to question prestidigitation because it is simply called magic is very questionable in and of itself. I have a cousin who is finishing his freshman year in HS who is a budding magician, and he is quite good. I've seen (without his knowing...shame on me, I know) some of his magicians tapes...there is no actual spells. Anyone who thinks that has no clue, with all due respect.

Why? Because it would be just talk. Magic in the sense you mean does not exist.

I have two friends who are professional magicians. Both of them have studied documentation of magic and witchcraft during the renaissance and middle ages--they're two very different things.

One of them has had the rare opportunity to be able to perform pre-modern tricks for an Amish audience - they were very frightened at first -- they assumed the devil must be behind the trick - but he assured them he was a Christian and he was only doing "tricks" - he even taught a few of them a simple rope trick (which he will teach anyone who asks).

A very valuable insight into the reaction of a non-modern audience.
