Interesting devotional on Ezra 9:9 from Beth Moore
Though we are slaves, our God has not abandoned us in our slavery. He has extended grace to us in the presence of the Persian kings, giving us new life, so that we can rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem. (Ezra 9:9, Holman CSB)
Thought:
Most of Israel had no social standing. They were exiled slaves in a foreign land, or in their own land serving foreign rulers. God forgot no one and gave love to all. How has God shown His love in your situation? How have you shown your love to Him?
Prayer:
You remember us forever. We cannot move too far away, get too deep in debt, become too insignificant in society. You still show mercy. Thank You, my Lord and my God. Amen.
