According to the Bible, Adam and Eve first manifested their guilt by knowing that they were naked. But why was it expressed in this manner, as opposed to some other medium?

Another thought, when they put on the fig leaves, just who were they trying to conceal themselves from? It was just them and God and the critters.

Have you ever seen a little child cover their eyes when they've been caught doing something naughty. They think you can't see them if they can't see you and they really don't want to be seen doing something naughty. As we get older we don't necessarily cover our eyes, but we might hide our actions/ourselves or run away in some other way. Sometimes we'll avoid friends that we've done something particularly stupid around because we feel ashamed/embarressed/vulnerable/naked around them.
When we read those verses we might imagine that they were suddenly distressed that their genitals were showing so they made brief little garments to cover them up. I'd suggest a better understanding is that they felt that their sin was exposed in them and they were ashamed, so in their immaturity they were covering themselves up to try and hide themselves much like a small child might.

The fig leaves were plants , having no blood for redemption of sins. They represent man's own works which are unable to cover sinfulness. God later replaced them with animal skins, thus killing the animals and shedding their blood for redemption of sin.

According to the Bible, Adam and Eve first manifested their guilt by knowing that they were naked. But why was it expressed in this manner, as opposed to some other medium?
Before the fall they were focused outwardly. They cared for others and they had their focus on God. When they turned their focus from God and onto what they wanted they fell. At that point their focus became themselves. Then, being focused on themselves they realized they were naked.

Another thought, when they put on the fig leaves, just who were they trying to conceal themselves from? It was just them and God and the critters
They felt shame for the first time and were trying to get rid of that feeling. I think they would have dug a hole and climbed in if they thought it would have helped.

I think that maybe we are very lucky that we never knew what they had before the fall. To know direct communion with God and to have perfect grace and then crash into a fallen state would be terrifying.

consider it reversed
Before, why Adam and Eve were not shy to be naked in front of God?

Because they were in a so close intimacy, nearness with God that they did not realized of it.

To be with God force you to forget any other matter, even important!

After the sin, they were no more so near to God, so they realized to be naked.
