I know that I may be an outsider on this but I think that the channel isn't a thing you should go for. I remember watching someone explaining Romans (I think) to me telling that if someone falls from the flock that you shouldn't pray for them because your prayer gives them a false peace. And giving them a false peace stops then from coming back. From what I understand I don't think this is right.

Saying that you should not pray about anything is a bizzare thing for any Christian to suggest.

I like some of the programmes on the GOD tv, especially the music videos, but I also think some of the programmes are abit brain washing and isn't good if a non christian tunes in at that time.

When I first became a christian I was very niave and gullible. There was a man on the roroy and wendy show heavy preaching over a pile of letters on an altar. He was telling viewers that God wanted them to give 77 pounds that was the annointed number! He also said an angel will be despatched into your home. I was very scared by all this and rang GOD TV to send money off. I spoke to my pastor the next day who explained to me that giving money is something you do because you want to. This particular programme wasn'tgood in my opinion and any non christian who tuned in would have thought christians are mad!!

I used to tune in to GOdtv but some of the broadcasts were/are a great example of the worst kind of christianity. Jesse Duplantis, the stand-up comedian of the world of evangelism; to my ears he is constantly blaspheming.
John Hagee; the political right-wing nutcase, who is convinced that a 'rapture' will take place (he's got massive shares in the oil industry too).
Benny Hinn; LOL!
Kenneth Copeland; crook
Steve Hill; he was invited to preach at a small church in Brownsville, Florida and practically claimed ownership of the church he was preaching in. Call it corporate take over.
Ernest Angley: HHHHHHHEEEAAALLL! And for heavens sake, everyone KNOWS thats a toupee, take it off, it looks daft!
Last but not least; the Beloved Rory and his prophet wife Wendy; Ah! bless!

Godtv is a money making organisation that has absolutely no interest in the individual except for their money that is. According to British law, it is illegal to ask for donations for a ministry in a broadcast. Yet they have a fundraising event every 3 months or so.

I may sound harsh, but a Christian missionary friend of mine has told me not to look at tv evangelism as a model for christianity and its obvious that i couldnt agree more.

I mentioned Revelation tv in an earlier post. I feel for the presenters on there. They are not allowed to ask for donations because of the laws. (god tv gets away with it because its classed as an international network) Revelation tv in my opinion, has the best choice of programmes but only their own programmes, they do broadcast some big bucks evangelists too unfortunately.

I know what you mean. It's such a shame that people have the wrong motives(money) God has given them the oppurtunity to use media and it's being abused. We could reach so many non christians and feed christians if only we went the right way about doing christian media.

There was one guy preaching who told a crowd of 2000 to cut out all the things they wanted and stick them on a wall i.e. cars jobs children ideal partner)
He said that God promised to bless abrahams decendants therefore we wil get whatever we want.

It was sooooooooooooo far fetched and the bible was taken way out of context!

Joyce Meyer, Terry Virgo and J John. Can they redeem the GOD Channel?

I believe that if they featured these kind of preachers more often then God TV would no longer be the joke of the secular world, but something this nation would tune into in droves!

Revelation TV is better in many aspects. However they could be a little more balanced in the Israeli-Palestinian debate. By all means support the Jewish people and be friends of Israel. But they should constantly be asking questiona of Israeli policy towards the Arabs and asking whether it is consistant with the Old Testament laws regarding embracing the 'foreigners'. To be nothing but pure Zionist propaganda will turn many people off!

Has anyone seen Peter Master. Now there's an old school gospel man. What a difference from some of the prosperity messages that more often than not can be found. at the least there's a lack of discernment to let Peter Popoff (a proven scammer) sell his 'miracle spring water' and 'divine transfer kits'. At least he's only in it for the money, some of the other's seem to spiritualise money and what on earth are they going to say when the end times come and only those with the mark of the beast can buy and sell?

I love the modern music though, some of it's amazing and dispels the myth christian music isn't cool.

What are your views on the GOD Channel?

What you think?

From what I read on the above sites it sounds like a British version of TBN. Sad-how can the land that gave the world Monty Python have a TBN-esque channel

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_Broadcasting_Network
http://www.tbn.org/

Therefore I picked the following:

Never seen it, so I can't comment. (Yes, I can comment :p )
Complete trash. Poorly made.
Religious brainwashing.
Irritating.

God tv's mission week???? A whole week of just asking for donations, is this really what people need to see when they turn on to a Christian tv station.

I understand that there is a need to generate funds, but a whole week of asking for donations. I dread to think what someone who is unsaved and looking for answers would think if they saw this.

Surely a tv station like this would be most effective putting out shows that give encouragement and hope to the unsaved.

Whatever you may think of the God Channel, I'm sure that God has His hand on it, and I woulnd't be too quick to criticise that which is annointed of God...

Like any infant, it makes mistakes, but is growing up healthily.

When you consider that they don't have any (significant) advertising revenue nor a licence fee (one of which every other broadcaster has), then you must be amazed at how it has managed to survive on subscriptions and donations. It is truly a global television station, which I find remarkable - only God could do something like that....

So to all who would criticise, I suggest that you change your heart and give it all the support you can - it's only with people like you supporting it that it will get any better...

I support it even though I don't watch it regularly (what an admission!), because I see the hand of God at work here....
