I like some of the programmes on the GOD tv, especially the music videos, but I also think some of the programmes are abit brain washing and isn't good if a non christian tunes in at that time.
When I first became a christian I was very niave and gullible. There was a man on the roroy and wendy show heavy preaching over a pile of letters on an altar. He was telling viewers that God wanted them to give 77 pounds that was the annointed number! He also said an angel will be despatched into your home. I was very scared by all this and rang GOD TV to send money off. I spoke to my pastor the next day who explained to me that giving money is something you do because you want to. This particular programme wasn'tgood in my opinion and any non christian who tuned in would have thought christians are mad!!
I used to tune in to GOdtv but some of the broadcasts were/are a great example of the worst kind of christianity. Jesse Duplantis, the stand-up comedian of the world of evangelism; to my ears he is constantly blaspheming.
John Hagee; the political right-wing nutcase, who is convinced that a 'rapture' will take place (he's got massive shares in the oil industry too).
Benny Hinn; LOL!
Kenneth Copeland; crook
Steve Hill; he was invited to preach at a small church in Brownsville, Florida and practically claimed ownership of the church he was preaching in. Call it corporate take over.
Ernest Angley: HHHHHHHEEEAAALLL! And for heavens sake, everyone KNOWS thats a toupee, take it off, it looks daft!
Last but not least; the Beloved Rory and his prophet wife Wendy; Ah! bless!
Godtv is a money making organisation that has absolutely no interest in the individual except for their money that is. According to British law, it is illegal to ask for donations for a ministry in a broadcast. Yet they have a fundraising event every 3 months or so.
I may sound harsh, but a Christian missionary friend of mine has told me not to look at tv evangelism as a model for christianity and its obvious that i couldnt agree more.
I mentioned Revelation tv in an earlier post. I feel for the presenters on there. They are not allowed to ask for donations because of the laws. (god tv gets away with it because its classed as an international network) Revelation tv in my opinion, has the best choice of programmes but only their own programmes, they do broadcast some big bucks evangelists too unfortunately.
