Forgive me for posting, but from a protestant's view looking in from the outside, this book is great. Cleared a lot of questions I had about Catholicism. You would be surprised (okay, maybe not) about how many misconceptions are out there.
I've read quite a lot of the Idoit's Guides, and they tend to be full of information. Maybe not great for the deeper elements of theology, but it does what it says on the tin
I personally like the title of the Catholicism For Dummies much better as opposed to The Complete Idiots Guide to Catholicism. I don't know, handing a family member a book that says its a guide for "complete idiots" just sounds rather "rude".

Actually I welcome a Protestant's view about the book. It helps to give another perspective. After all, if I bought this book, I'd be buying it for my family who are mostly Protestant. One member of my family is an Atheist though.
