Isaiah 11:5-6 says...

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

See the fufillment of Isaiah 11:5-6 unfold before your very eyes! http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/africa/newsid_1905000/1905363.stm

The Hebrew word for "calf" has also been translated as "African antelope" in numerous ancient Jewish texts. So since a lion has lain with a calf, I guess we've got ourselves a fulfillment of end-times prophecy, baby!

P.S. - The above post is my version of lighthearted humor. We've had so many heavy subjects here of late I just thought I'd lighten things up a bit, just for fun. Anybody else know of any other "fulfillments"? :) :D ;)

In Christ,

Acts6:5

I'll do you one better.

And one of the elders said to me, "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals."
And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (Revelation 5:5-8)

If you want to see the Lion lying down with the Lamb, look no further than Jesus Christ, "the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star" (Revelation 22:16b).

Thanks for the humor Acts!

It is sorely needed at this board today! Everyone seems kind of edgy!

I found this at the site you linked:

"Local newspapers have noted that all three adoptions occurred on significant days - Christmas, Valentine's Day and Good Friday."

Bazaar!!!!!!! :D

Then why is there evil still in the world? Have you ever studied jewish escotology?

There is evil in the world because the Heart of man is wicked and deceitful above all else (Including Satan) (Jeremiah 17:9)

Even on the New Heavens and Earth, we see Adulterers, murderers, fornicators, liars, and sinners in general, roaming the planet, outside the gates of the Holy City. (Isaiah 65:17-21, Revelation 22:15)

If you believe in eternal suffering and punishment for the wicked, then you are compelled to affirm the everlasting existance of Sin, evil and suffering in Gods creation

Perhaps you might want to look into universalism or annihilationism, for Those views are the only ones that  do not contradict  your (apparent)  belief that evil will one day be extinguished.

Good hunting!

Universalism teaches that all men will be saved and that is completely unbiblical.   Annihilationism teaches that no one will spend an eternity in hell, but that those who are not saved will be annihilated, which is also unbiblical.

How do you equate those two false teachings with the end of evil?

Isaiah 65 shows what it will be like during the millennial reign of Christ.  It is after this that there will be a final judgment and the new heaven and earth will be created.   After the thousand year reign, satan will be loosed out of his prison and shall go forth to deceive one more time, there will be one more final rebellion, which afterwards satan and those who rebel against Christ will be cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:7-15)

Revelation 22 , look at verse 12.  Here Jesus promises to come.  Verse 15 is referring to the unsaved who will obviously not have right to the tree of life, and is saying that those that are unsaved will not be entering into heaven.

"The verse does not intend to teach that in the eternal state all manner of wicked men will be living just outside the heavenly city. It simply describes the future with the imagery of the present." (Mounce)

Now it's you that have sparked my interest!

Please show me how Isaiah 65 speaks of the "millennium".

Nooo...not really. Have you ever studied escotology? Evil ends when the new world comes. That's the point.

So in your study in eschatology how do you account for the evil bad people IN the new creation of Rev 22 -this is AFTER sin and death etc have been cast into the Lake of Fire.

Davo, you didn't answer my question.

Yes I study eschatology. We have evil in the world through the sinful heart of man -which Jer 17:9 says is corrupt above all else.

Now -how do you account for my question above.

Okay, then what is the Jewish ideal of the new world and what is the christian one? Or do you fall outside of those?

That might be the point you hope for, but it isn't taught anywhere in scripture, in fact, as I previously noted in an as yet un refuted statement, Sinners, murderers, adulterers, liars, and various other aspects of General Evil, continue to roam the "New Earth" after it arrives.(Isaiah 65:17-21, Revelation 22:15) "

If you disagree, then instead of simply saying "your wrong" without any sober reason, why don't you show me how these particular scriptures I have cited are to be understood in your view?

Thanks in advance
