what happens if god created the earth 7 billion years old (or whatever time scientists believe the earth to be so old). But he actually created the earth whatever how old the bible says the earth to be (whatever age that maybe.) i think 10 thousannd years.....sorry i dont know. anyway so god created bones, fossils, even caveman drawings and stuff that have the age of millions of years.

So why would god do this? well faith! this is a test for us (and i say a tiny one) of how faithful you will be knowing this and the knowing the bible. God created this as a test for us to see how much we trsut him?

anyways, i dont really care (i dont mean to sound arragant) but it really does sound very irrelivant since it is a very little passage from the bible about the beggining of the world. i think when im in heaven, i dont think ill be apsulutly crying for joy and amazed because god created the world in 7 days (even though it is amazing). ill be filled with joy because god loves me, anyways what do you people think.....if anyone reads this that is?

If god was really devil in disguise im going to be severly tortured by the devil.

What is the devil is actually a nice guy that couldn't stand God because God kept drinking his beer, even though it was clearly labeled "Mourningstar", so he acted childish and shaved God's head when he was sleeping. But God got the drop on him and got everyone into believing he's this horned, evil torturer, when in fact he's currently a Real Estate agent in California.

What if?

And since you even admitted this had nothing to do with Evolution, why did you post it in the Crevo section?

Why would one worship a God who deceives?

Cause if you don't you will burn in hell and demons with pitchforks will pinch your butt daily... But then if God lies then He might be lying about anything. And it is very possible that atheist chess masters are the only ones admited to heaven cause God likes to play chess and talk about His non-existance. Or maybe God will only admit the scientologists or devil worshipers or rastafarians... If God is really a prankster there is no end to what He might or might not do.

So, what you're saying is, first God is testing us by creating an entire universe with his own hands and then having his own creation, which is known to lie and deceive, write a book that says how the universe was REALLY created. He wants us to trust the handiwork of the lying, deceitful part of his creation but not what he made directly?

Can you seriously not see the conflict here? I remember reading a quote by someone, but forget who it was, that says, "God will reveal himself through his creation." Shouldn't we be studying his creation to learn about God then?

how the earth REALLY was created as it says "god created us in 7 days". thats what i mean by god created theb earth with everything on it such as fossils and stuff.

I dont really know how god decieved us. It says "god created the plants, animals, seas mountains, such and such" But it doesnt say how exacly. And if the bible was a book to tell us how everything worked preciesly, i think it would probably be about 1000 billion pages long. I doubt anyone would ever r=be ablle to read that.

It says so little in the bible about how we were actually created. Alot of the bible talks about miracles of god, love of god, the power of god. Yes: this tiny bit from the bible does show the power of god. But it does not show the love of god.

It also says in the bible that no one could ever prove the existance of god though human logic, i certainly couldnt. The only way i found was i prayed with a OPEN mind and OPEN heart. Because of his love that i got to enjoy god.

creation shows the power of god and how complicated, beautiful his desiogn is. But first you must understand that there is a god otherwise this will really get nowhere!

Dont look up massive amount of information about evolution, does this really disprove the existance of god?.....i went off topic but im sure you wont mind much...

convenient the bible tells you to not think about things cos if you question it, you're going to hell.

i like the part where you tells us to to look up things that arise out of natural curiosity and the want to learn. you don't want to learn. we get it. why are you posting in this tread? these threads are about knowledge. knowledge is what is allowing you to type on your computer through the microprocessors at world. science brought you technology. if you truly believe it, you would throw your computer away, grow your own plants and mend your own clothing and basically live off of simple technology.

evolution's point isn't to disprove the god because evolution doesn't acknowledge god. it draws its conclusions from the world around us and studying it.

you're reading the bible literally. this obviously spits in the face of knowledge and what we are capable of ascertaining from using our mnds.

it's funny how can tell us to stop thinking because you've obviously stopped a long time ago.

it's the "stop thinking" crowd that drives people away from christianity. it's a stronger influence than all of pop culture. you turn people off to religion when you cry out "don't think for yourself, let us think for you." it's driving me toward atheism and telling others to avoid american churches.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!

that was a bit hostile. I really am telling you this. It took some crazy scientist his entire lifetime to relise Genesis: 1:1. thast there is a creator. He was a man who thought in human logic. Eventually he figured out at the end of his life by working it out scientifically this.

I am basically saying if your going to use human logic for everything such as :ive never seen something weird happen when someone prays, therefore i wont pray as nothing will happen.
or "evolution disproves a verse from the bible being true therefore god doews not exist" although that is a little extreme.
I personally believe one way to know if there is a god is by praying, it freggin worked for me it can work for you to. I dont understand your point in what your trying to say. cause i said something about evolution but really i personally care more about love from the bible. Youve goot to understand that please.... I am not so fasinated in evolution. I believe it creation and think it is wow but it doesnt fire up my soul. the holy spirit does. Please try to ubnderstand that i have heard from other topics about evolution and they go around in a circle. I normally get nowehere, i just wanted to tell people the truth. I believe in god thorugh prayer, miracles and the bible which some parts i prayed, opened the bible in raandom aand there it was a very sdimilar passage i prayed for.

Wow. This is followed by . . . "I dont really know how god decieved us."

Well, look right above in the quote box.

It says "god created the plants, animals, seas mountains, such and such" But it doesnt say how exacly.

Where does it say that God made fossils.

well it doesnt exacly say "god created the earth. He created the centre core, mental, outer core and crust. He created the centre core hot and outer core cooler. He created water with the chemical formula H2O.

well, thats a bit to much! but basically does god actually tell us exacly what were made up of? or what everything is? As i said, if he did the bibkle would be 1000 billion pages!

So wouldn't it be fair to say that God gave us reason and logic so we could figure out these things on our own? Galileo probably said it best:

Which is why the Bible is not a science textbook and should not be treated as such.

i am not saying atall our logic is WRONG. when theres been times when i have to think in an instant and i have to use my brains. But really i believe god knows every piece of logic, knowledge and everything. I know that if he knows more than me, then what i am thinking could be wrong.

God created us with brains and ofcourse he obviously wanted us to use them. But god also created us with the ability to sin, it doesnt make sin right does it just because god created us with the ability to?
I'm sure god also knows that many will question (as they do). But i follow god. e.g: once at my churhc at a youth group i was near the front. It was worship time and i was praying, but i had this strong urge to go up to the front and start talking. I prayed and this feeling got even stronger. Now i honestly had apsulutly no clue what i was going to say and had not planned a speech. But i went up there even though i hadnt prepared a speech. Using my own logic: i would of gone up there, made no sense and stuttored. People may of startted and laughed at me as there were many atheists and peopel who like to make fun of god. But i went up there feeling god was telling me and i sppoke makeing total sense with no stutters, no imbarresment. It was almost perfect and people were starring in quite amazment.

Just an example. Just because something sounds or seems impossible doesnt make it so. If god were to tell you something, what would you do even though it made no sense?

your right, it does not explain science. It explains god!!!
We're all familiar with the concept of a holy book describing a deity. It's not a particularly difficult thing to figure out.

So...what's the point of that post?

What if your conclusions contradict what is found in God's Creation? What then?

God created us with brains and ofcourse he obviously wanted us to use them. But god also created us with the ability to sin, it doesnt make sin right does it just because god created us with the ability to?

According to my understanding of christian theology, God gave us free will which includes the opportunity to sin. Nowhere in the Bible does it say not to think, but it does say that a christian (or Jew) should not sin. Seems pretty simple to me.

I'm sure god also knows that many will question (as they do). But i follow god. e.g: once at my churhc at a youth group i was near the front. So which is it? Does God move people towards "making sense" or confusion? If we, as humans, can make sense of the world around us is that consistent with God's influence, or is God's Creation meant to confuse and contradict the Bible?

And BTW, you should be congratulated on your bravery. We may not see eye to eye where religion is concerned, but I always like to see poeple moved by reasoned conviction.

It really is quite striking across CF, never mind this board.

I think it generally comes from a complete lack of effective education.
