Hey all.

I know God is the author of his word. I understand that God is responsible for the Holy Bible. I also know who is in the bible and who wrote what we call the Old and New Testament.
What I would like to know is, who had a hand in circulation?
What people if any had a hand in what scriptures may or may not have been put into the Holy Bible.
There is no timeline restrictions to this question. I would like to know about every person that had anything to do with the Holy Bible from the very begining until now. That doesnt include who is in the bible.
I would like to know the history of the bible, that maybe few people know.

imind is correct, this forum is intended for discussion of the origin (or biodiversity) of life, and more specifically the evolution vs. creationism debate. This topic is Biblical origins. I'm not sure which board would be best suited for this particular subject, but I'm fairly certain this isn't the place.

They were writen by followers of God, but the author of the book itself is God.
The list of people who wrote the bible is a long one.
I started a thread in the debate forum, however I can not reply to my thread because I don't have enough post to post in that section.

I have started my own research in the 4th century, where the Roman Catholics began to have heavy influence on the leadership of the time.
So far I am leaning in the direction of St Silvester and the influence he had over other catholics because of his supposed miracles.
The idea of rules in the catholic religion doesnt seem to rest on the shoulders of one man but several. I just believe that some where some how there was one person to start it all. I beielve if I can find this one person there will be a chain of people to follow.

I am also researching the 1600's due to the religious turbulence during that time.

I suppose I could move this to general theology and see what happens there, if anyone interested would like to follow me there.

A good place to start is with a book called Who Wrote the Bible? by Richard E. Friedman. It doesn't really cover the whole bible, but it does cover all the first five books and some related writings in the OT.

The second statement is closer to the truth. God authorized the Bible. God only wrote the Bible in roughly the same sense that King James I of England translated the Authorized Version (except that King James is not quoted in it). He is responsible for it in the sense that He commissioned its production.
