What's the difference when used in the Bible? sometimes it is LORD (all caps) and sometimes it is Lord. I try looking at the context but I can't figure anything out to distinguish one from another. there has to be a reason...

The two words LORD and Lord occur in the following, the first to God the Father, the second to David's Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Psalm 110:1 (KJV): "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Matthew 22:42-45 (KJV): "42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, 44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

"Elohim" is usually translated "God", while "Adonai" meaning Lord, Ruler, Master is usually translated "Lord".jckstraw72 said:
