No the church is not a KINGDOM. Which Church in particular are you talking about? How can all churches in general be Christs Kingdom, this does not make sense.

Christ hasn't returned yet, I am not going to give scripture because you will not concede and admit Christ has yet to return.

If this is about Preterism, I am set in my beliefs and am comfortable with Christs promise to return.

This is the problem that I run into with most people - they are willing to espouse their beliefs, but then when I ask for evidence they give me none. I am not trying to prove you wrong or prove myself right, I am trying to follow the will of God, and if that means that you were correct and I wasn't, then I need to change what I thought previously.

No the church is not a KINGDOM. Which Church in particular are you talking about? How can all churches in general be Christs Kingdom, this does not make sense.

The reason why this doesn't make sense is because you thought that I was referring to denominations when I said church. There is only one church - that is the Lord's church, the church of Christ. No denominations are ever mentioned in the Bible - not one, not ever.

"There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called-- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. "

Ephesians 4:4-6

This post is about what you believe the Bible says concerning the kingdom of God. You say it hasn't come yet, I just want to see the scriptures you use to back that statement up.

We are told to study to show ourselves approved and that the scripture is word of God. The only way that we can hope to understand the will of God is to study the word of God. I don't claim to be an expert on anything, and my views are not set in stone. I am open to learning what the Bible has to teach - that is why I want scriptural evidence for claims that others make. If I can't read and verify what others say in the Bible how will I ever know whether or not they're correct? I don't come on here to stifle others, but to ask questions, learn and maybe offer help if the situation arises.

Well thats cool then, but I have to go to sleep, I am happy that you are open to the possiblity of Christs upcoming return. My wife is asleep and I cannot turn on the light to read my bible and give you scripture now.

I would specify that you want all views on this or you could be bombarded with 1 sided Preterist views.

I'm sorry goodnight, I will look some scripture up and present it tomorrow.

Christ does reign spiritually now in the Church (that recognizes Christ as savior), but his physical second coming has not occured yet.

I'm sorry I missed this, I apologize. What is your current belief? That Christs Kingdom is here and there will not an upcoming Return of Christ? If you study carefully and set aside any preconceived belief, you will see that Christ has not yet returned to make his Kingdom.

Goodnight. :)

I believe the Kingdom is within our hearts.

Lu:17:20: And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Lu:17:21: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus needs to be the King of our heart for the true kingdom to be established within our lives.

That is not to say that someday the Lord will not reign all the earth because our bible also tells us..

Re:11:15: And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

This reign could be within men's hearts also. I believe the Lord reigning within men's hearts brings about a transformation without into the earth.

I do believe we will behold the Lord someday.

Job:19:26: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

This could be after our passing this world though, as Job talks about worms destroying his skin.

GTX...

My preconcieved beliefs were yours once...I'm not a preterist yet (must say it's making some sense, other than the 2nd coming), but when Christ ascended into to heaven the Bible teaches that Christ was put on the throne...there are many places to point this out...the best I believe is the story of Stephen's stoning...Jesus came into His Kingdom way back then(that's what being on the throne means) and there is no future kingdom (other than the one that already is) that is discussed in the Bible...We sing it in our song's, we preach it in our pulpits, we say it in our prayers...but do we believe it...Christ IS...King Of Kings and Lord of Lords...

I agree.
To say the Kingdom of Christ is not a present reality on earth today, is to say Christ is not King of Kings and Lord of Lords, ruling from his throne over all creation today.

And that is something the Bible believing Christian should closely re examine before espousing.

Christ is indeed ruling over all creation today, which makes his "Kingdom" (that which he has dominion over) a present day reality on earth.

This conclusion is inescapable for the honest Bible beliving Christian.

What do you think about the kingdom of God: has it been established already? the coming of Christ? all comments welcome...

The kingdom of God was established before the foundation of the world; manifest in history with the death and resurrection of Christ; and shall continue to be made manifest through the lives and witnesses of believers until its full consummation, at which time all creation will be as it was "in the beginning."

On the personal level, the kingdom of God begins when Christ is enthroned as Lord of our lives, his Holy Spirit transforming our whole being into his image and likeness. The more we outwardly manifest this inward reality through “lives of holiness and godliness” (2 Peter 3:11), the more we begin to see the kingdom breaking forth into our midst.

The Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Christ are ALL one and the same -they are synonymous, and they are ever present. Separating them from each other to make them apply to different time frames to accord with some eschatological theory goes right against the teachings of Scripture.

Matthew 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
